Have been with 3 companies.  Lines all over the place.  Nothing makes sense.   Two companies -- good pay but only 1 or 2 specialties.  They paid for everything and didn't cheat me.  Third company, many specialties, much experience, barely making a living.   My speed is still good.  I use short forms.  They're just cheating me.  This concern has been expressed by seasoned MTs who don't stay because of this.

For you experienced MTs who can easily change companies, it's a good plan.  But for those of us who the better companies won't even look at until we have 5 years, what do we do?   How else do we get the experience so that the good companies will take us?  We either take what we can get just to get the experience and hope it will change for the better down the road, or we opt out of the whole mess altogether.  It's getting to be like watching the stock market except instead of our money being at risk, it's the days/years of our lives we are playing with in this profession.

I want to see a pot at the end of a rainbow (their empty promises) that isn't filled with you know what.
