...because of a misdemeanor?

I should have clarified in my earlier post, should I bother finishing school because I have a record. No felonies, one guilty disorderly conduct because I forgot to pay the fine on time, 11 years ago, and one arrest/dismissed charge of assault 4, dismissed because I was arrested but found to be a victim and sent to victim's class so the charge was dismissed. Should I bother applying for jobs? Is this going to be a permanent barrier to employment as an MT? I am an A student, never had drug issues or employment problems, just faulty relationships. Any advice on this? I have heard both ways, that it will keep me from getting a job and that it won't. I am going crazy worrying about it. Help!
