Hi Michelle

I applied to companies online and have been working from home ever since.  This was the reason I went into this field.  I home school my step-son and run my daughter to public school.  Daycare would have been too much if I got a job outside my home.  I did get job offers from local doctors in the town where I live, but I passed because I didn't want a deadline or work in the office.  The company I work for now is TERRIFIC.  I actually just signed on as a full time employee.  They have 24 hour TAT times, but there is no pressure when you work.  I basically work throughout the day.  I work for a few hours in the mornings, then log off, take care of the kids, then log back on in the afternoon, log off for dinner and family time, log back on when the kids are in bed and my husband is doing his own thing.  The best part is ... I get paid decent.  I hear "newbies" only get paid 5-7 cpl, but I started out making 8 cpl and got a raise in 6 months.  Now since signing on to full time employee ( I started out as part time IC) I will be cross trained into hospital basic 4, sleep studies, OP notes etc.  When I am fully trained in those areas, I will receive another raise.  I will have been with this company for 1 year next month.  Just got my audit 2 days ago and scored 99%.  I do believe it makes a difference what school you attend, but no matter how great of an education you get, if you are not commited, it will not matter what course you took.  In the end, I believe it is up to the individual.  I applied with numerous companies when I first started and may be only 4 or 5 responded.  I was like you, I was only able to afford AHP.  I had no internet access, so did not even know Andrews or M-Tec existed, let alone this board.  Anyway, I didn't mean to post my life story LOL.  I better get back to work.  Let me know if you have any questions about the course.  Honestly, if you can afford Andrews, go for it.  I have met people who have graduated from their and do not struggle in fiinding a job.  I really do believe I was lucky finding the company I did.  I have read many negative posts about AHP and how many people had to take a secondary course or could not get hired.  Best of luck! Let me know if I can help in anyway!
