Kate, this question is asked and answered fairly regularly on this board - you can either do a search or just scroll through looking for posts regarding the future of transcription.

Medical facilities still need people to clean up the VR because it's very far from perfect and to take care of those physicians who will not/cannot use the technology.

It is a changing industry, to be sure, and no one can say definitively what will or will not happen. There are no guarantees in life, but I do not anticipate the door closing on transcription any time soon, nor do I regret my choice to enter the field.
