I'm not sure that it's a good idea to base decisions about your future on posts from an anonymous message board. Why not check to see if you have a local AAMT chapter and talk to some MTs face to face? (Or check out the AAMT board, which is one where you have to register with an email address to post.) Maybe a local hospital will let you talk to some MTs. Ask your school for some names of graduates to talk to.

I have been in MT for several years and made over 25K my first year and have never made less than 30 (usually closer to 40) after that. I know there are some MTs who struggle to make a living, and there are also some who do very well. It all depends on the individual, the position you get, and how much you can produce.
