RN to MT

In Reply to: LPN to MT here. The pay drop will be a shocker, but it's nice to work - from home if you really want to. nm

Thanks for all the great responses. We moved last winter and I took an $11/hr paycut as an RN. The hospitals here truly suck and I quit my first job because I felt my license could be at stake due to the horrific state of the hospital. I'm now working home care p/t and at the detention facility p/t. The stress of the RN is greater now than ever before. I could almost justify it before I took a huge pay cut in order to relocate for my husband's job. Now it just about kills me and I run myself ragged. I don't want to miss my children's lives and those that think nurses are well paid will likely see the hard realities unless you're extremely lucky. I'm no where near retirement but I do know that nursing is not all it's cracked up to be...for me anyhow. You're never done and the stress is tremendous. Thank you all for your thoughts.
