I'm glad you understand my perspective. I don't want to bash nursing in general. I love the ideals I went into it with. But it's not how the real world operates. I had the privilege of working in a very wonderful Magnet hospital in CO. I wouldn't work anywhere but a Magnet facility if I were going back to hospital nursing. Nurses in general aren't valued. Why else would there be such a shortage? Except in Montana of course! Hence the low pay and zip for opportunities. I don't want to drag that stress around in my 50's and 60's and Lord knows I'll have to work well into those years!
