Whose certification was it? With what organization?

That might have been your problem with getting a coding job.

If it was actually the CPC exam by the AAPC, it REQUIRES TWO YEARS OF EXPERIENCE before they will grant the credential. You can pass the exam, but you will NOT get the whole credential. They will give you a CPC-A. That is an apprentice designation. You have to keep it until you have met their experience requirements.

If you were telling employers you were CPC certified without experience, they KNEW you could not have that full credential yet. They would have assumed you were falsifying credentials.

Employers verify credentials and background before hiring coders. It really pays to find out what is appropriate to put on a resume and to be very careful about the way you present yourself.
