Getting faster takes practice, plain and simple. Try some typing games (Typer Shark is fun), try Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing, type nonsense in Word but keep your fingers on the correct keys and type real words. I started school at 75 wpm and type over 100 now (I graduated 2 years ago and have been working for 2 years come June). I used to loathe the number keys at the top and I have no problems with them after typing lab results for almost 2 years! If you really want to be an MT, you can get faster and be more accurate, I'm sure :o).
