Is it mandatory to be able to transcribe an audio with HORRIBLE sound quality to graduate from an MT program? Is that what M-Tec and Andrews are doing? Training MTs to be able to transcribe crappy dictators and crappy audios? This is pathetic and ridiculous!
Technology should make efforts to develp BETTER sound quality or tell the dictators to dictate BETTER or keep their equipment in proper working order.
But, if this cannot be accompished, then maybe EMR is REALLY the better solution!
The skills of a qualified MT are

medical terminology
grammar
spelling
punctuation
typing 60pm,
140 w/expanders and templates!! LOL !

One cannot withold a certificate to an MT on grounds that she cannot transcribe a 'crappy' audio.

Well Excuse Me!
I am a student at AHP. I really don't appreciate being called a spammer. I have been posting on here for several months now. I would think somone as perfect as you would remember me.

My sentences were short because I was in a hurry. I am so sorry to have missed a comma in my down time. I am not as perfect as you.

I get plenty of dictation from my course. The extra I buy I listen to in my car just to get used to different voices. Thats my choice.

My doctor has two AHP graduates working for him now. That is why he recommended them. Sorry to burst your bubble.
Excuse me, Jay, but you know nothing of my situation and

what I did or sacrificed, so there's no need to pull the "weren't you a newbie" ***do not use this language***; especially since you have no idea how long I've been working or what school I attended. It's common sense that more companies would up the scale if they didn't have people jumping at the chance to work for 5-6 cpl. I've met many people who have settled for 5-6 cpl and then griped that they can make more at Wal-Mart and work less hours. Solution: Hold out. Also, I'm not going to start "at the bottom" when I don't have to because someone thinks it's my duty.

***Ms. Amanda, I would suggest that you watch your language.  It is fine to express your views, but unnecessary to be rude towards others***

Please excuse the typos
I've been up all night.
Excuse me, but please could you explain
to me how an Medical Transcriptionist is going to 'train' or 'get schooled' for doing EMR?
Isn't this the doctors' or nurses' job?

I am really waiting for your reply!
Uh...excuse me...those of us with dissenting opinions
we hate being paid so little for it..and that is the fact. Years of training to make no more than 10-11 hour. that is a fact. I am sure there are the few fortunate enough to still make a very good living..but the MOST MTs and definitely NEW MTs will NEVER make a decent living working for an MTSO..UNLESS they get their OWN account.
