The difference being, Palin is not a member of Senate so she does not need to go there and vote. And, Obama is not saying that he needs to suspend his campaign. Seriously, it does not invoke a lot of confidence in McCain if he cannot handle this crisis and still keep the campaign going. What is he going to do as President - he'll have a lot more things going on at once then. The war, which is a major crisis, did not stop Bush from campaigning or Regan for that matter back in the day. It also does not invoke a lot of confidence that he doesn't say Palin can handle this while I'm gone. If McCain was so interested in leadership, he should not have been campaining for the last basically 2 years; and vice versa.
