Can I just say this?

There has been a lot of arguing and bashing going on here the last couple of days or so. For the majority I haven't said anything, but I have been reading and following along. It also seems that there is a lot of bashing against the conservative Christians (and a lot of bashing on Obama from Christians also). I just wanted to offer up this olive branch if you will and say this:
I am a conservative Christian. I did not vote for Obama. But, I will pray that God will give him the strength, courage and wisdom to turn this country around. I hope that Obama will resist the temptations that come with political positions and be an honest, fair leader. While I don't feel his views on abortion and gay marriage are in line with a Godly worldview, I do realize that there are people who do not believe in the same things that I do. I feel that to force people to live by these beliefs will in the end turn them bitter and hateful towards Christ and therefore their hearts will be hardened and they may never come to accept Christ's sacrifice and be saved.
So all I can hope for is a president who will try to stay in the middle. If he can do that, then he has my support. But regardless of whether he does or doesn't, he sure has my prayers, because God knows I would not want to be in his position!
