As a nonbeliever what do you think it is that makes you feel good inside when you do something good?  I don't know how to answer that question.  I know when I screw up, I feel like crap.  When I do something nice, whether it's for someone/something else or myself, I feel good.  Positive reinforcement and all.

I don't know much about atheists, always thought there wasn't much to know, except they don't believe in God and so I would assume when they die they believe that everything stops right there.  I feel that there has to be a better life in the world to come so I am asking a sincere question which is thought provoking at least to me.  Life is what you make of it and it's far too sort to be sad and angry.  Why not make the life you have, right now, the best you possibly can...belief in a diety or not.  Well, at least that's how I go about my day-to-day life.

If a loved one dies, how do you deal with it?  I grieve and feel sad that I will miss them and move on.  I remember their life and celebrate it, try to take away something from it i.e. maybe carry on some weird little thing/tradition they did as a routine or keep alive a favorite recipe to remember them by.

What happens to them.  When you die what happens to you? Bodies are either cremated, buried, given to science. In my opinion, it's just a vessel.  I believe that energy is neither created nor destroyed and somehow, on a molecular level, that energy is just recycled.  I think our bodies are huge batteries, neurons firing, saline allowing the flow of current and all that. I do not believe in a heaven or a he&&.  I think those were ideas created try and control people by fear.  I just don't agree with that.  Carpe diem!
