The reason behind not having a POTUS......sm
for more than 2 terms is to prevent any one man from having too much authority and thus becoming a "king" after a fashion. Why would we want a president who gets us into debt to the tune of multi-billions right out of the gate to remain in office for unlimited terms? And please don't give me the song and dance about Congress having to pass it. Obama rushed Congress to pass this without most of them even having read the entire thing.

I do believe, however, that we have found something that we agree on. I, too, do not believe that senators and representatives should be allowed unlimited terms. The jury is still out on how I feel about the Supreme Court (okay...pun intended), but I am leaning toward letting them be lifers as they are the law keepers for the nation and to regulate them to limited terms might cause unmitigated overturning of previously passed laws based on the whimsy, for lack of a better word, of the individual justices.

FWIW, I don't think Obama will be elected to a second term, so this is likely all acedemic anyway.
Obama is the most unqualifed POTUS ever.
nm
Since when is the POTUS the only person in government
allowed to hold a press conference? The entire nation holds a stake in cabinet appointees and interest in this has been keen. Exactly what do you find arrogant about announcing cabinet appointees?

Most of us appreciate seeing some semblance of leadership in these trying times, and Bush certainly did not exactly look much like a leader in his most recent appearance in media! Speaking of media, just last week, Lou Dobbs (not exactly a flaming lib) was grumbling over his need to see Obama take MORE of an active leadership role.

Also, I don't see any of those large-scale predicted revolts in the electoral college today, did you? Seems to be going rather smoothly, last time I checked.
Elevate himself to POTUS? Obama
is the president-elect.  People are fed up and have dismissed Bush, and they are asking and curious as to how Obama is going to clean up a HUGE MESS made by Bush, and they want answers; that's why he is in the forefront. Bush is and has been a has-been to 77 percent of Americans for a couple of years now, and therefore, they are hungry and anxious for leadership!! That's why Obama is in the forefront.  However, he has not made policies, or enacting policies, as he CANNOT until he is sworn in, and he has to get his ducks in a row so that the moment he is sworn in he can begin to clean up Bush's mess.  As far as Bush's last press conference and his farewell speech, same old, same old, "it's not my fault"  "freedom"  "democracy around the world."  Well, as shown, democracy is not the answer to everything as is apparent by Hamas, a democracy, and look how that turned out. Truly and sincerely, not hiding my head in the sand as Bushies do, the US is in such a disastrous state that I don't know if anybody can do anything to turn things around, that's how bad the Bush Admin. is/was for America.  So, instead of bashing and criticizing Obama, I would suggest you and other Bushies pray for the man to get America back on track as it is in YOUR best interests...you are the future of America.  Don't you care that Obama gets it right?  Don't you care about feeding your family, healthcare, jobs?  It's your life, it's your country, and it's all about you and the people you care about.  You had better hope he can pull all this off, otherwise you won't have squat!!
Do you promise?.....nm

You will, I promise you! nm

I promise you
that no matter how many drugs are floating around out there, I'm still not going to use any. It doesn't mean I approve of other people's use of them. Homosexuals can sodomize themselves silly. It doesn't mean I'm going to feel all warm and cozy for them and tell my children, "Look isn't that special?" Approval of sin makes a mockery of God.
He can promise the world now....
just like Clinton did. Then he will sit down with advisors who will tell him in a kind way what are you, nuts, there is no money. And he will have to come on TV and blame it all on the Republicans and that is why you won't get your tax cuts. Then he will turn right around and increase taxes on the wealthy who aren't near as wealthy anymore since the crash happened, more jobs will be lost, and we will go from recession to depression.

I don't think he will mean to cripple the country...but it will be crippled nonetheless.

I promise you, you will not wear us down.
Many may change their minds if you settle down somewhat and work, until the next vote, to present your argument.

However, you will not wear down or exhaust the will of those who are as passionate about upholding their values as you do yours.

Once again....another broken promise by the big O.

So much for the change Obama promised to bring.  Sounds to me like it is the same old political bullcrap of the rules not applying to certain people.  Why bother saying stuff when you know you can't or won't do it?

Only if you actually PART this time, as you promise to do.

But then again, you've repeatedly proven your fondness for the truth, so I think it's safe to say that you're not going anywhere.  Out of all your posts, though, this one was just too precious to ignore.

As far as lumping me in the same category as GT and Observer, pardon me while I get all misty-eyed because this is probably the nicest thing you've ever said to me.  By telling me that, you're telling me that I'm a person who sees things clearly and realistically.  You're telling me that I have compassion for people who are in dire need of compassion these days.  You're telling me that I don't worship a false idol like you do.  You're telling me that I can see through the soulless, heartless, brainless moron whose boots you would gladly lick as you kneel to worship him.  You're telling me that I support our troops because I value their lives and only feel their lives should be placed in jeopardy when absolutely necessary to defend this country and not for a war borne out of lies and deceit by a president who most likely packed away his plans to attack Iraq in the box marked Personal and brought them with him when he relocated to the White House.  You're telling me that I have the insight, wisdom and intelligence to recognize when I'm being lied to and that I have the courage to vocally object to it, rather than make excuses for a man who only truly cares about rich people.

Best of all, you're lumping me with two other posters whose views I thoroughly respect and am always eager to read, people with brains and consciences and hearts.

So right when I become all misty-eyed at the wonderful compliment you've paid me, you say you're going to leave.

I suppose I can take solace in knowing that it's just another of your many, many lies, that you're probably just one of the many voices in MT's head, and I hope she doesn't kill you when she finds out you've complimented me, although I thoroughly understand the mounting panic and frustration those of your ilk must be feeling.

I hope you have a delightful evening, and once again, thank you so much for the wonderful compliment.

I promise if you learn to spell. nm

He's not a promise keeper yet. Don't jump the gun.

These press conferences are to let everyone know who's going to be in his cabinet and to reiterate that he had no contact with Blago. Why does he keep saying this? He supposedly is going to release documents "next week" that will prove it. So, I will wait until next week.

I just read an article by Morton Kondracke in the local newspaper where his health plan cost may top $3 TRILLION. That's almost as bad as the bailout plus. Where does he think this money is going to come from? THAT's the question I want answered.

All his other lofty promises, too. All will cost money. Who's going to pay?  He can't tax the businesses as they are the key to jobs and, if he does that, the jobs will be gone. He can't tax the working people because, if he does that, he's backing out on his promise plus the working people can't take any more taxes.

With unemployment at such high rates and more every day, how long do you think unemployment benefits will last? Already Michigan and another state have 0 balances in their unemployment benefit chest. The governor of PA (Rendell) stated he only has enough employment benefits in the coffer to last 6 months IF there are no more people opening a claim. Without people working, they aren't paying taxes. Without tax money, the government can't provide benefits. Even SS is at risk to run out before the stated time mentioned a year or 2 ago.

So tell me, will he wave a magic wand and the money will appear? Probably, which will lower our dollar purchasing power and put us more into debt.

It's time for people to wake up. The depression is here. The reason the O read about FDR is to try and figure out what to do, but FDR didn't have a crisis such as this. This is above and beyond anything that ever happened.

That was McCain's campaign promise...
McCain promised "line-by-line", Obama promised "reform." Also, it is against the constitution (via Supreme Court) for the president to "line-by-line" - they can only sign or veto - that's it.
No dog? ANOTHER campaign promise broken?
I guess we shouldn't be too surprised that the "tax cuts for 95% of Americans" will "not likely survive a budget battle with Democrats on Capitol Hill".

That's good, Obama. Some leadership! And blame it on the legislature. That's your MO, isn't it,Obama? Blame everything on everyone else.

You love to have your cake and eat it too, don't you, you pathetic L O S E R.
Yet another campaign promise broken..... sm

This originally included pictures, but apparently they would not post here.

A Boeing 757 and a fleet of armored cars for Michelle’s sight seeing tour!

Michelle One

On Sunday, President Obama flew back to the United States on Air Force One. His wife, two daughters and her mother did a bit of shopping in Paris before taking their own Boeing 757 (C-32) over to London to do some sight seeing.

We all remember Obama’s admonishment to corporate CEO’s in February:

“You can’t get corporate jets, you can’t go take a trip to Las Vegas or go down to the Super Bowl on the taxpayers dime.”

Apparently that doesn’t apply to his wife.

The London Times opened it’s description of Michelle’s visit this way:

Motorcycle outriders, armoured Chevrolets and bullet-headed men in raincoats criss-crossed London yesterday as Michelle Obama and her daughters spent a second day on an unofficial visit to the capital.

The Times went on to describe that when Michelle and the girls arrived at Westminster Abbey, the building was closed to tourists with people already in told to “wait against the wall.” An American visiting the Abbey said “Right then I knew it was probably someone from our ‘royal family’.”

Michelle’s motorcade shut down the London street above as the First Lady of the World and her children go for Fish and Chips at a pub in Mayfair . The entourage inside the restaurant was 15 people while dozens more wait outside. Include the dozens of Air Force personnel to fly and service the plane, embassy personnel and other staff and we are talking about a serious expenditure of tax payer dollars.

Meanwhile, millions of Americans have lost their jobs and won’t be able to take their family on a summer holiday. Despite their circumstances they’ll still be expected to fork over the tax dollars to pay for Michelle’s trip!

More like Clinton's broken promise to cut our taxes

That little campaign platform that he would cut our taxes (middle income) when elected.  Within days after being elected he raised our taxes to the highest ever in record history.

Also, according the to U.S. Treasury website that tracks the national debt, there was never a surplus because the debt rose every year.  I know a lot of people don't like to hear that, but that is just the facts in black and white

During Clinton the National Debt was:

Fiscal
Year
Year
Ending
National Debt Deficit
FY1993  09/30/1993  $4.411488 trillion
FY1994  09/30/1994  $4.692749 trillion  $281.26 billion
FY1995  09/29/1995  $4.973982 trillion  $281.23 billion
FY1996  09/30/1996  $5.224810 trillion  $250.83 billion
FY1997  09/30/1997  $5.413146 trillion  $188.34 billion
FY1998  09/30/1998  $5.526193 trillion  $113.05 billion
FY1999  09/30/1999  $5.656270 trillion  $130.08 billion
FY2000  09/29/2000  $5.674178 trillion  $17.91 billion
FY2001  09/28/2001  $5.807463 trillion  $133.29 billion

As you can clearly see, in no year did the national debt go down, nor did Clinton leave President Bush with a budget surplus that he subsequently turned into a deficit.  Its true the budget was "almost" balanced in 2000, but it never reached zero, let alone a positive number.  Also, the growing deficit started in the Clinton budget, not the first year of the Bush admin.

To understand what happened requires understanding two concepts of what makes up the national debt.  Therefore I will attach a link that explains this.

I do know a lot of people really liked Bill Clinton as a President.  No doubt about that.  He had charisma and was very mesmerizing to listen to him speak, but you just can't toss out facts.

Obama already trying to back out of his promise of change.

By Tim Reid, The Times of London

Barack Obama's senior advisers have drawn up plans to lower expectations for his presidency if he wins next week's election, amid concerns that many of his euphoric supporters are harboring unrealistic hopes of what he can achieve.

The sudden financial crisis and the prospect of a deep and painful recession have increased the urgency inside the Obama team to bring people down to earth, after a campaign in which his soaring rhetoric and promises of "hope" and "change" are now confronted with the reality of a stricken economy.

One senior adviser told The Times that the first few weeks of the transition, immediately after the election, were critical, "so there's not a vast mood swing from exhilaration and euphoria to despair."

The aide said that Obama himself was the first to realize that expectations risked being inflated.

And what about the promise Bush gave, I think about capturing him?
Well, we saw how far that went. By-by Bush.
Here we go again....another campaign promise bites the dust...

Obama Not Closing Door on Possible Health Tax

Referring to proposals to tax workers who get expensive insurance policies, Obama, who campaigned against the tax last year, said, "I don't want to prejudge what they're doing."

The unions are going to flip over that one...taxing of benefits.  Benefits are the backbones of unions and their power over their members.  Has it finally sunk in people...you cannot believe a word this man says.  He lies as easily as the rest of us breathe.  And the amazing thing is....it works for him.  Blinded by the obamalight.  lol.

Bush Breaks Nation's Promise to Veterans

This isn’t new (it’s from May), but it’s the first I saw it. I found it interesting but not surprising.  Our Veterans deserve much better.

VETERANS
Bush Breaks Nation's Promise to Veterans

Appearing yesterday at the Arlington National Cemetery to honor generations of sacrifices by American servicemen and women, President Bush said, "At our national cemetery, we take comfort from knowing that the men and women who are serving freedom's cause understand their purpose and its price." Yet the reality has been that the administration that most recently has sent those men and women to fight for freedom's cause has failed for live up to government's age-old promise to "care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow, and his orphan."

BUSH'S 2006 VA BUDGET HITS VETERANS HARD: President Bush's 2006 budget proposal included legislation that would raise veterans' premiums more than 100 percent on prescription drugs and add an annual $250 enrollment fee for veterans who want care for conditions not directly caused by military service and who generally earn more than $25,000 a year. The administration has recommended these same proposals in each of the past few years, only to have them beaten back by Congress each time. The user fee would increase costs for nearly 2 million veterans nationwide.

WAR VETERANS EXCLUDED FROM COST OF WAR ON TERROR: Conservatives in Congress rebuffed an effort to include $2 billion in emergency money for veterans' health care in the recently passed $82 billion Iraq war supplemental. The president's request increased the VA budget a mere 2.7 percent (including the increased co-pays and enrollment fees), hardly sufficient to deal with an expected influx of Afghanistan and Iraq war veterans in the coming years. Nearly 28,000 soldiers who served in Iraq and were discharged have already sought care at a VA facility. Of the nearly 245,000 veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan already discharged from service, 12,422 have been in VA counseling centers for readjustment problems and symptoms associated with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. VA Secretary Jim Nicholson has said the budget circumstances are not "dire," yet Senate Veterans Affairs Committee Chairman Larry Craig (R-ID) was forced to increase the 2006 budget request by $1 billion. Dave Autry, a spokesman for the Disabled American Veterans, said, "Vets are owed a debt and the government has said they are eligible for health care. The government needs to pay for it. It's a continuing cost of our national defense."

BUSH WANTS TO SHUT DOWN VETERANS HOSPITAL IN HIS OWN BACKYARD: Veterans in Bush's backyard, near his ranch in Crawford, Texas, are protesting his administration's decision to close a VA hospital in their town. "It would be, in my opinion, a tragic mistake to shut down our hospital, especially during a time of war when tomorrow's veterans are in harm's way today," said U.S. Rep. Chet Edwards (D-Waco). In May 2004, then-VA Secretary Anthony Principi announced he would be closing three veterans hospitals nationwide and partially closing eight others. For his work, Principi was rewarded with an appointment to the chairmanship of the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) commission.

VETERANS GROUPS SLAM BUSH BUDGET: More than 300,000 veterans' claims are pending before the VA, according to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, and the number of claims pending for more than six months rose from 47,000 in 2003 to 75,000 at the end of March 2005. The deteriorating condition of VA health care has elicited plenty of criticism. The American Legion called Bush's budget "the wrong message at the wrong time to the wrong constituency." The Vietnam Veterans of America said the budget did a "disservice to those of us who donned the uniform to defend the rights, principles, and freedoms that we hold dear." And the Veterans of Foreign Wars decried Bush's decision as "especially shameful during a time of war."

Gotcha. Reject candidates who promise what we know they can't deliver.
...although that does raise the little problem of who, then, we could possibly vote for?

I read an interesting statement over the weekend and can't find it now, but basically it was this: When we scream at our politicians we're really screaming at the electorate that put them in office. And at bottom, that really is the problem. The politicians are exactly what our electorate has chosen. And frankly, I don't see the electorate changing for the better - especially younger voters - for which I think we can thank at least one generation of parents who didn't parent, and teachers who didn't teach.
'Bout time, too! This science shows such great promise in
N/M
let's break this up...
I would not hang out with hitler just because I so young at that time. Like is to like and water seeks its own level, etc. you are known by the company you keep.
I would like to point out there are people out there who would rip the hide off Thomas Jefferson for what many thought he did with a slave although since proven he did not and that was a lot longer ago.
I was doing pretty good until this year, but NAFTA was started by clinton, not bush. The war seems to be was started by all of us or at least the people we voted for, because saddam himself started the rumors he had weapons of mass destruction, apparently to keep iran out of his hair. This was actually reported on 60 minutes, not known for conservatist reporting. We were told this would be a long haul before it even was started. Honestly, I don't know anymore, and neither do most of us.
I am no longer pro choice. I find pregnancy almost totally inexcusable except for obvious cases of rape and incest, and a few other criteria. The practice seems barbaric to me and the PETA people would all over us if we did the same to animals.
SS: Some people were already pulling out of SS into other plans back in the 80's and as I remember, some of them failed and the money disappeared leaving them with not enough SS points to quality. Scary. There was nothing wrong with SS until Washington got greedy and stole from it to bail out Medicare or Medicaid.
Don't get the last one about decades-old news, celebrity. I don't pay attention to celebrities and old news should be looked at as history, hopefully so we don't repeat past errors.
No, we are not basically okay, but a lot of this on personal levels we have done to ourselves. We are now in the habit of pointing blame at anybody else rather than own up to what we do.
Don't know how to break this to you, but
I read the letter in its entirety. I read it for a second time because I was so stunned that anybody anywhere was trying to make political hay out of a communist analyzing the DNC, comparing its presentation to his father's "methods," remembering his father fondly (most human beings do this once their parents have passed) praising the DNC success and THEN making the leap from this to Obama is a communist and is into mind control. I posted and went about my business. All day long, I kept thinking about the absurdity of the original contention and continued to chuckle each time. I came back this afternoon and lo and behold, someone is still trying to make something of this. I am still LMAO. It is on the pathetic side that the promoters of this conspiracy theory cannot see the folly in this most preposterous notion.
Don't know how to break this to you, but
Fairly tame in comparison to the real liberal press, none of which is broadcast on cable or networks. MSNBC is simply a democratic viewpoint, not liberal enough for the libs. If you think these sources do not represent democrats, why not ask them, instead of assuming that you know something about something that you know nothing about. But hey, you already have no credibilty outside the choir.
Let me break this down for you.
Obama and McCain are the candidates. The economy is in meltdown mode:

1. People are losing their jobs. In Georgia, for example, their unempolyments claims jumped a whopping 76% last month. Nationally, initial unemployment claims jumped to 498,000, the highest they have been since October 2001. Over the last year, the number of unemployed has risen from 2.2 million to 9.5 million.

2. Jobs are being lost in record numbers. 760,000 jobs have been lost this past year....the highest rise since October 2003....and the 9th consecutive month for job loss.

3. They are losing their homes. The foreclosure rate rose 12% last month, 27% from one year ago nationwide. However, Nevada, for example, has seen an 89% jump from last year, California 75%, just to give you the idea.

4. They are losing their life savings. Stock market crash shows net loss of 38% this past year. That means that a $100,000 investment a year ago is now worth $62,000. 401K statements are due out momentarily. If you think right-wingers are angry about the "socialist takeover,", just wait for that news to hit home. You haven't seen angry just yet.

Candidates are expected to have positions and plans on such issues as the economy. Recent polls indicate that Obama holds a double-digit lead in voter confidence when it comes to handling the economic crisis. Obama talks openly about his economic plan. McCain runs and hides from the issue. That is why we are all waiting for HIS supporters and for HIM to step up to the plate and enlighten us as to how his economic policies would be different from W's and what his plans are for fixing the problems. The answer does not include any mention of his opponent's name. It requires a direct, open, thorough, honest response. Can you handle that?
OK. Let me break this down for you.
catch my drift. Here's a clue. It's a word that would be barred from the forum. Nevertheless, for me it is an appropriate moniker. My news sources are hardly confined to TV broadcasts. I read newspapers, news magazines and listen to radio broadcasts, but am not keen on radio talk shows. Heavy on information, void of editorial and lending easily to my own interpretation....that's how I like my news. Focks does not rise to that standard.

Your being a Focks promoter, explains the narrow scope of your posts. There is nothing fair and balanced about them and there is a reason that CNN and MSNBC do not broadcast most of the garbage Focks tries to pass off as legitimate reporting. Sean Hannity is a major player in the fomenting hatred that grips the pub party and will eventually tank McCain's campaign. CNN and MNBC are only marginally better. I am more drawn to information that is a bit more academic and certainly more intelligent.

I am not susceptible to spells or propagnda. I am 60 years old, have been a political junkie since age 14, have been issues active, yet not particularly party active, since the early 1960s. I am no follower, but am well acquainted with myself and my core beliefs. My life experiences, economic class, gender and race have all been contributing factors in my passions for civil/human rights and socioeconomic issues, minority rights in particular.

I fear ignorance, not truth and there is nothing you, Focks or right-wingers can say to make me drink the Kook-Aid you are selling. I know raw ignorance when I see it and that is precisely what people of intelligence see when they witness the target audience at the McCain/Palin rallies. They are losing the election and cannot come up with a coherent campaign strategy that engages anyone outside their fringe elements.

I will pray for you, too, because you are in for a rude shock in T-minus-24. I look forward to a Bushless world, a step into the future and a closed chapter on the politics of fear. Bye-Bye.
Come on, cut her a break
They did outlaw the action figure. Give her some credit!
Let's break this down for you, MT.
The idea is to debunk the ignorance behind the stereotype that all Moslems, moderates included, are terrorists....an assumption you have clearly made. This can be done by not referring to them as terrorists or implying that the US is "at war" with Islam. In other words, Islam/Moslems and terrorists are not synonymous.

Winning over moderates starts with mitigating anti-American sentiment that has been flamed over the past 7 years under the shrub among moderate Moslems. The weaker that sentiment becomes, the less attraction and "draw" the extremist groups will have. The Moslems will end up marginalizing their OWN extremists and become part of the war on terror, not just idle bystanders.

Don't even try to imply that this is not possible. I have had Moslem friends for over 40 years now and not once have I even encountered a terrorist among them. On the contrary. They are quite open to the West and pretty much DETEST the rise of the Islamic political parties in their region.

The tax break is for everyone, not the top 10%
Everyone gets a tax break. The whole point is to get things moving again. I think his package would have done it.
Sure you don't break the rules
Sure you don't.  Your fingerprints are all over the conservative board, but that's neither here or there but I could really care less.
Well, let me break out my violin

if this was a true account of this interview I don't know what this reporter expected....did she expect that he would let an Irish anti-war reporter rip him to shreds?   Considering all the hatred he's been subjected to I would say he held his peace quite well.

You follow follow a protocol with any dignitary or leader you'd meet anywhere in the world.  Wonder if this chick has ever met the queen?  Now, there's some strict protocol for you.

Give me a break.
The CON board has been demoralized by nonstop drive-by vitriol for months. Forgive me if I'm neither surprised nor particularly perturbed to see that the worm has turned here. My congratulations, though, extend to all those who post with the very obvious intent of ridiculing and harassing those with opposing views to the point of eliminating rational discussion on these boards. If their purpose is to eliminate rational discussion of important political issues, they seem to be succeeding.
He's trying to break a record you know.
Cutting his vacation short due to the Katrina disaster could have affected his record!  Must be nice to have over a  year of vacation time in only 7 years, and a war-time president at that.  I'm not surprised though.  I almost don't want to talk smack about him anymore because it is just too easy.  It helps to vent though, I suppose.
oh give me a break!
as the person said above, ive never used his whole name, and i said it for impact, not because i care about him. Honestly, I don't know McCain's Middle name! or Joe Biden's or Sara Palin's. pathetic that you talk about me in third person. ask like the person above. again you know nothing about me, i have pics all up on my myspace of me shaking Obama's hand and me at his speech... you know the old saying if you assume you make an a$$ out of you and me!

Hate to break it to you....
...Obama's been bouncing all over the place with in unreliable polls, too, for months....why is it that his rise in the pools was all "reliable" or does "unreliable" only count when the Republicans bounce ahead.

I like that lipstick platform line, too......not too derogatory, just a touch of sarcasm....works for me.....

Well, hate to break it to you....
but not everyone who disagrees with a Democrat is a Republican. I am a conservative. The Republican party left me, I didn't leave it. So now I am an Independent. Quack back at ya!
Hate to break it to you this way, but -

Is that what they were teaching in your school system - 'fuzzy biology'?
Oh, give me a break!!!!!!!
Nancy Pelosi wants to take on some of her "garbage" to the deal.  There should be NOTHING added, nadda, let alone her screwed up way of thinking mess.  There will be so much added garbage by the thieves on capital hill WE are paying for, the debt itself will never see the money.
Likely to die? Give me a break.
Are you suggesting he's NOT being diligent about his health? Do you think he hasn't had an MRI just because he didn't fax it to your house? Vote for whoever you want, but siding with that numbskull Obama because you have a preminition of death re. his opponent is laughable.
Story about to break....
whistle blower from Project Vote/Acorn...testifying in PA yesterday...supposedly has documents proving direct link between Obama campaign and Acorn/Project Vote...who this person says are virtually the same....saying Obama campaign gave the maxed-out donor list to Acorn/Project Vote so they could get donations from them for their voter registration program.  So much for "I have no connection to Acorn or their voter registration programs."   If I was that woman I would hire bodyguards.
Give me a break!
Hey, guess what?  The war in Iraq IS pointless.  It was predicated on a lie by  power and money hungry idiots (Bush/Cheney, supported by McCain).  The idea that our troops should stay and fight and die for a lie just so McCain can put a big W in the win box is sickening.  McCain says he's all about veterans...yeah right.  I guess that's why he voted against the new GI bill.  You may want to take issue with him on that.
Give me a break. Okay...YOU TELL ME.
Follow me now....listen. Obama SAID he is going to give a tax cut to 95% of Americans. He has said it REPEATEDLY. FACT: 95% of Americans DO NOT PAY federal income taxes. Between 30% and 40% DO NOT. Okay...focus here now. HOW is the great and powerful OBama going to give a tax break to THOSE 30-40% who are a LARGE PART of that 95%?????? You said yourself: You cannot be given a tax CUT if you do not pay taxes. Look at his plan AGAIN re: refundable tax credits. THAT is where the 30-40% are going to get their "cut." IN the form of a check. Good grief, it is so simple, is THAT why you don't get it?

If I am so misguided, please help me understand...95% of all Americans are going to get a tax cut. He said it. Repeatedly. 30-40% OF that 95% DO NOT pay federal income tax. So WHERE, unless he is lying through his teeth, is THEIR TAX CUT going to come from, if not through refundable tax credits in the form of a check? Please enlighten me, or bright one who knows SOOOO much more than I do.

Thank you so much.
Not a break from reality,
but more a trance.  Freaks me out.  Thanks for the statements you posted.  This is not a normal election, but more of a movement.  Hope it will not be like it was in the 60's with riots going on.  Getting more and more like the Book of Revelations.  A person who will deceive the nations with persuasive language and have massive christ-like appeal and people will flock to him as he will promise false hope and world peace, but destroys everything.  FREAKS ME OUT.  He keeps changing his mind and now he and his campaign want to try to kill the expectations of what he has been stating for months.  Beyond creepy.  This is not your normal every four year election.
Give me a break is right.
Someone posts and says we shouldn't post and use the day to mourn Obamas beloved granny. But Obama doesn't stop campaigning. You just don't like it that the truth is coming out about the O. You just don't like it that there is a possibility he could lose. I don't think he will lose but there is that possibility. But your using any excuse to try to suppress information from being put out and telling us we're heartless, etc. When you know for a fact if it was McCains mother you would still be posting articles.

Yes it is sad to lose a grandparent that you love. We all know this. We all have sympathy. But it's not stopping him from continuing to campaign and it shouldn't. The election is tomorrow. He is grieving in his own way as everyone does when they lose a beloved. However because his grandmother died should not stop the Obama supporters to keep supporting and the McCain supporters to keep supporting McCain.

Are you trying to say the Obama should keep campaigning and his supporters keep doing what they're doing but McCain should stop campaigning and his supporters just go into morning for Obama.
Hate to break this to you,
this economic crisis is so deep, it may take a little short-term socialism to get it back on course. The wild abandon of free market system and W's corpocracy is what landed us here. Before you come back at me with dems in Congress, let's not forget W's big burley veto pen. Not much good can happen until the duck quacks his final quack.
