she said that separation to prevent "assimilation" was good, because those who "assimilated" into the "white culture" were less likely to try to help other Blacks in the lower class and "lost" their identity. THat is the exact OPPOSITE of what he says when he says "there is no black america and no white america, just america." Those are words to get elected. He does not believe that...he went to a church for 20 years that does not believe that. She does not believe that. Her thesis shows she does not believe that. Her comments show she does not believe that. It explains why she and Mr. Obama were drawn to the Trinity Church and black liberation theology. Several of the passages sounded almost just like black liberation theology.
That line of thought has been prevalent in both of their lives...and it brings the comments she has made and has been criticized for into a new light.

It may have been written 20 years ago, but they were members of that church until a few months ago.

WOuldn't mind reading Mr. Obama's either but apparently everyone lost it. Not saying there is anything sinister in that...just that it is lost.
