So you are saying...

a family making $80,000 with two children cannot afford to have health insurance for their children? If they cannot, then I submit to you they do not have their priorities straight.

And, with all due respect, anyone in their right mind knows that the cigarette tax will come nowhere near enough paying for the entire 6-billion dollar expansion the Dems wanted. And, with all due respect, I have a REAL problem with being taxed even more to have the privilege of providing medical care for illegal aliens' children. It is not wrong for me to expect my government to administer the program as it was intended to be administered. It is not wrong for me to want to not be taxed for entitlement after entitlement after entitlement until I will need entitlements just to pay my taxes. Good grief, if they didn't take 30-40% of our income off the top ALL of us could afford to insure our children with the cadillac of policies.

It is easy to blame one man in Washington for this, but that is wrong, wrong, WRONG. Democrats are riding the SCHIP program wave to try to get into the White House in ང. If they really cared about insuring kids they would have extended the program and compromised, but we all know that is not the Dem's way. God forbid we should lower taxes; oh no, more entitlements and stick the knife a little deeper in the American people to pay for it. How about the Dems in Congress forfeiting their health insurance, government paid, and putting that money in SCHIP? Just the Dems would probably keep it going for a year or two alone. Why Dems only you ask? Let them put THEIR money where THEIR mouths are for a change instead of putting OUR money where THEIR mouths are. What a concept.

Again, I do not begrudge any child health care. However, we cannot continue to move assistance higher and higher up the income ladder. Surely to goodness you see the fallacy in this. It only encourages people not to prioritize in their personal lives...>>*Heck, I don't have to insure my kids, the government will do it and I can spend that money someplace else.* In 5 years will it be $120K for a family of 4 because we have been taxed so much to pay for the first expansion? You really cannot see the foolhardiness of continuing this entitlement, tax, entitlement, tax? Sighhh.
