I have read many of your posts and for the most part, we agree.  But, when I see what you have posted after reading the deployment of an army brigade in this country under the disguise of "protecting" the citizens, I am disgusted.  On one hand you seem to want to protect our civil liberties but this is one step away and well on the way to instituting "martial law" in this country.  The mere fact that you do not see this making headline news should be a BIG WARNING sign to you that this is not constitutional.......this is underhanded and sickening.  I don't remember being asked if I want an army brigade walking my streets, monitoring our citizens (and if you don't think that is what they are there for, think again). 

Since when has government done anything that has helped this country in a long while, other than tax you to death and selfishly blow that money......now look at the mess the US citizen is put in, being asked to bail out corrupt corporations, same corrupt corporations that lobby your senators and congressman to the tune of billions a year.  You think THEY are going to help you. PLEEEEZE!  They are helping themselves and will have so many hidden incentives for them in this garbage.  

For those who do not have accounting experience, maybe you won't understand this, but our government says they will NOT put this debt on our balance sheet for this country....... EXCUSE ME!!!.   NUMBER 2 WARNING FLAG!!!  No above board business is ever run by pretending debt doesn't exist, let alone trillions of dollars of debt.  Wake up, sam. 

If you read the article thoroughly, which you would not have found in a million years just by goggling it (ask yourself why), the details are in the key phrases, which you choose to believe are for our safety.  What a crock!!!  From the article:

"They may be called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control".  Who exactly do you think they mean by "civil"......the terrorists?  No, of course not. 

"The 1st BCT’s soldiers also will learn how to use “the first ever nonlethal package that the Army has fielded,” 1st BCT commander Col. Roger Cloutier said, referring to crowd and traffic control equipment and nonlethal weapons designed to subdue unruly or dangerous individuals without killing them."    Nonelethal weapons?  Cops kill people every day in this country with tasers because of abuse of these items.  You think the military, who is trained in COMBAT, won't be abusing these things to the max?

" It’s a new modular package of nonlethal capabilities that they’re fielding. They’ve been using pieces of it in Iraq, but this is the first time that these modules were consolidated and this package fielded, and because of this mission we’re undertaking we were the first to get it.”

The package includes equipment to stand up a hasty road block; spike strips for slowing, stopping or controlling traffic; shields and batons; and, beanbag bullets."

You think we need spike strips, HASTY road bocks, controlling traffic, SHIELDS AND BATONS, beanbag bullets (which by the way can kill).   The national guard can use and ARE trained to do these things, as well as your local police FORCE. 

Yes, for those who want to believe their government would never do anything to hurt them, just look at the mess this country is in now.......of course, they knew about it years ago.......ask yourself why it is just now coming to light.  Everyone is so distracted (distracted the key word here) waiting for the sky to fall, our new "Homeland"  BRIGADE can be deployed right under our nose, which is about to happen.   How many of you knew about this?  Anyone report this in your local newspaper or newscast?  Hear about it CNN, CBC, ABC, NBC, or FOX?   No, you didn't!!   This is government at its worse, not finest. 

Recall the scenes of military in European and other countries waltzing up and down the streets of their fair cities with guns, standing on street corners, seemingly innocently there for the citizens.  Bet those citizens who are older can tell you it all seemed innocent enough when it started, all in the name of protecting them, but they've been around enough to know in a "free" country, you should not have "government military" involved in this country in the way they are now being used. 

It's called a POLICE STATE and you are about to be in it, my dear!
