Well let's see

Let's use YOU as an example....Suppose you have a good paying job and have money left over after you purchase the basic necessities.  YOU buy new cars, computers TVs, all sorts of things (with CASH, not credit).  YOU buying these things makes the retailer wealthier and that retailer expands the business and buys more products from the wholesaler, who in turn has more money and he buys more products for his expanding business which benefits the manufacturer and thus the BIG GUYS like Bill Gates.

Seems like that has worked pretty well in the past.
