My husband and I give a good portion of our income to organizations/needs that WE choose. How is that *not very Christian*?

It is MY money that I earned, and I deserve the right to direct it where I see fit. As a Christian, I do not give as an obligation or a duty, but as a desire to help others. I do not want the government in my pocketbook dictating that MY hard-earned money go to Joe Blow sitting on a couch drinking beer all day, not working because all he has to do is collect a paycheck from the government.

Again, how is that unChristian?
