Why I thank God for

1.  We've elected a minority President now.  We no longer have to show the world how "color-blind" we are.  With that behind us, we can get back to selecting the most-qualified candidate instead of one who happens to be the color-du-jour.

Translation:  We can throw Obama out of office in 2012 based solely on his lack of leadership, his bizarre notion of what the Constitution allows, and his lack of character without risking being called the "R" word.

2.  We've learned the fallacy of falling for the glib, buttoned-down, Teleprompted candidate who uses so many ambiguous words that no one can agree on what he's really saying.

3.  We've learned that experience matters.  It's easy for the inexperienced candidate to talk a big game until it comes time for him to govern.  Then, he's not so good.

4.  We've learned that there are some candidates who will say anything to get elected.

5.  We've learned to pay more attention to the warning signs that a candidate might not be exactly who he says he is.  The Jeremiah Wrights, William Ayers and Acorns in a candidate's background DO MATTER.

6.  We've learned the folly of having a one-party government in Washington.

So, if we survive the next 3+ years under Obama (a thing that is by no means certain), we can thank our lucky stars and start trying to climb out of the hole that he's already dug for us - and continues to dig.  Hopefully, it won't be too late, and we won't make the same mistake again for awhile until we forget the lessons he has so exquisitely taught us.
