invasion of privacy is one thing. Having the governor of a state use his law enforcement people to do an extensive background check on a person and make the findings public goes further than "invasion of privacy." That violates his civil rights. Would YOU want law enforcement to do a background check on you or someone in your family simply because they asked a question? Do you think it is fair they did that to that man simply because he asked a presidential candidate a question???

So far as I know McCain has not had a background check done on ANYone who asked him a question.
