Would You Let Someone Waterboard You For $50,000?

Would you spend 40 seconds of your life being waterboarded, if you had a physician AND a psychologist standing nearby to ensure your safety and sanity?

For 50K, I could take an entire year off of work.

For 50K, I could get out of debt, buy a new car, and take a pretty fantastic vacation.

For 50K, I could put down a heck of a downpayment on that little retirement hobby farm I've had my eye on.

So, yeah, I'd take the "torture" for $50,000.  Would you?

After all, it seems a lot easier than what the contestants on Survivor or Fear Factor have to go through.  I'd rather be waterboarded than eat crickets, for example.

So, what do you say?  Do you think most Americans would subject themselves to waterboarding for 50 grand?

military personnel during training.  Give me a break.  I'd take being waterboarded over being beheaded any day....but that is just me.

for preparation so they will be able to withstand such tactics.  It is also done with their consent.

This isn't an either/or proposition.  Waterboarding according to our laws as well as the geneva convention is torture whether you like it or not.  Comparing it to something worse doesn't make it legal and doesn't make it a better practice.  Robbery is a crime, but it's not as bad as murder, so does that make it okay to commit robbery?

No, I wouldn't waterboard....(sm)

Instead I would use methods that actually work.

You want to know what's really funny?  You guys were all over Clinton because of his indiscretions -- saying it was a moral issue.  But then when it comes to something like torture (which is a much more serious issue than Clinton's -- and yes, is also a moral issue, not to mention against national and international law) you're fine and dandy with it.  That's what I call hypocrisy at its best.

They should waterboard Nancy Pelosi. All she does
