with Obama's policy on labor and the recent rumblings in the ranks (UAW, Republic's union workers) I think we will be seeing them play a much bigger role in the upcoming years. They were an effective force back in the 60s and 70s in providing a sort of checks and balances environment between workers, management, corporations and the financial sectors. I would like to see that come into play again, minus the corruption, even though I know that sounds pretty naive.

Maybe I am grasping a straw. The big elephant in the room here is the lack of dialog at the moment about the trade agreements. I think Obama has reform in mind there too, and talks a lot about bringing jobs home. It really will be interesting to see how this all develops.
