Can someone tell me what a "pacing drive train" is?

"Atrial extrastimuli were introduced, beginning with pacing drive trains of 600."

I hate it when the doctors/PAs prounounce diabetes MELLitus as diabetes mellITUS like it's some kind of inflammation or something.

From Dorland's.com:

diabetes mellitus (di″ә-beītēs melīĭ-tәs)

Good grief - you're a highly educated person.  You should know how to pronounce the medical terminology and medications.  Sorry.  Just tired and crabby todayd.

It always used to be tendonitis, now the change.

And you say extend/extension so why not distend/distension?

When I first started transcribing again after a hiatus of about 15 years, I had to put "distension" in my AutoCorrect so that it would automatically change it to "distention" until I could get used to it.

There's an ENT doc who is about to drive me insane! I can't find just one word.
Subject: There's an ENT doc who is about to drive me insane! I can't find just one word.

I've wasted about an hour today looking for this one word the dictator uses over and over. I'll copy the sentence:

"Larynx and pharynx examination reveals normal adenoids, ____________, eustachian tubes, pharyngeal walls, piriform sinuses, epiglottis, false and true cords immobility to mirror and direct laryngoscopy."

The missing word sounds like "coin-ee." I've pulled old reports and everyone has left it out. Also can't tell for sure that he's saying immobility. Doesn't seem like immobility of the vocal cords would be desirable. Shouldn't it be mobility?

Somebody out there must be better at ENT than I.

Pes plano valgus with gastroc constracture, forefoot varus, left side, is correct. Technically, in OP report headings, I was always taught to spell things out like "gsstrocnemius" even if the doc abbreviates because it is a main heading, but it also goes with your account. Hope I have helped!!
