It sounds to me like it was being done with frozen sections and had to resect an additional amount, leaving a "new" margin for frozen section.

Did you try Google? Did you try looking through your drug book thoroughly i.e. where it sounds like a short A sound, maybe the drug actually starts with an E ... got to use your imagination here.
