If the dictator says: The patient was seen by Orthopedics - is orthopedics capitalized. If he says the patient was seen by Dr. Smith of Orthopedics, is it capitalized. If it is, then I'm trying to think of an instance when it would not be capitalized. This is just one of those dumb things that I can't seem to get straight in my head.

- Per AAMT BOS2 do not capitalize if it is generic, do capitalize if it is associated with a facility - MT50
- It's really up to your client. The trend is to not capitalize depts. or entities - unless formally named - Dr. Seuss Radiation Clinic
