I would have to see what the patient's other problems were I guess. I have never heard this in an extremity exam before though.

States:  A wire was then passed through the needle, the needle was removed, and the triple lumen was placed over the wire and the wire removed. This was sutured in place, all 3 lumens with a positive s/l "flash." 


Is "flash" lingo for blood return? or is he saying something else.  I've not typed these before.

FINDINGS: External examination: No fissure, fistula or external hemorrhoid noted.
