Exactly how I find it in QLDB

Posted By: MQQA on 2009-01-06
In Reply to: Verapamil SR, etc. - Happy New Year?

Subject: Exactly how I find it in QLDB

I always use the Quick Look Drug Book. It tells you if the drug is a brand name or generic. If it is a generic drug such as verapamil, they will list all of the brand names it goes by. If none of them are what the dictator is staying (i.e. verapamil SR) I would simply transcribe it as dictated "verapamil SR" the pharmacist will know that the SR is for sustained release.

I don't know if I've answered all your questions. If not, feel free to reply and I'll try to do a better job :-)

If you happen to find out what this word is, please post it. Usually, if the wordd exists or anything close to it...I can find it. My brother is a physician and he also has no idea what the word could be based on what you say it sounds like.

Sorry I couldn't help.

I can only find "Wise" anywhere I have looked or searched. The doctor spells it as "Wyse" but I am not sure that is correct. Did you find it written somewhere? I want to be absolutely sure I am right before going against his spelling.

I am thoroughly confused on this! I have searched through everything, and find Micafungin. I can't figure out why, even though he pronounced it "mico", QA would change it to Micofungin. The dictator was discussing the meds he was using (ID). Any ideas?
