I have deleted and banned several offshore posters from using this website, the Word board in particular.  I will try to watch closely for offshore posters as we do not allow them to post here.  Your help is appreciated if you suspect such.

Reminder:  We do not allow test questions to be posted.  As I am observing this board closely, I will delete any posts that seem to be following test format.  Changing your moniker will not make a difference -- I can still see who you are!

Please be aware that "rhodilla" and "ghie" are offshore posters.  I have banned their addresses (IP and e-mail).  Always watch for "clues" and "signs" -- multiple posts at a single time, etc.  Report suspicious posts.

I will try to keep watching for suspicious posts.

Anyone asking for help on this word board, please be careful in whose responses you choose, to type in the report(s).

We have a poster here claiming to be a QA person who has supplied incorrect answers all over these boards for at least 2-3 weeks now.

I would be hesitant to number them is because of the coding issue. If I'm not mistaken, each diagnosis is coded for insurance rasons, proper billing, etc.

usually he says laboratory data and he did not on this report.  He talked about the ECG then just said INR 3.0.  The doctor says type as dictated, so I did not feel it went under ECG thats why I wanted to make sure about the lab, not unless it would appropriately fit under ECG??  Thanks

crashing. On the other hand, BOS says non is a word that in most cases does not need a hypen, so it does vary in many instances. Non can be combined with the word being used. Noncommental is an example, but there is no hyphenated statement following it.

the meaning in an ADDENDUM.
How do you know what the doctor meant? GOOD GRIEF, are you the know-it-all (hyphens must be put here, as it is used as a noun!) on this board? Get over yourself!

Who understands what it means without an explanation?
The MOST obvious is apparently like I understood it:
5 packs in 1 year.

Maybe the doctor really meant this, 5 packs per year, so essentially a nonsmoker.

GOOD GRIEF, get over yourself!

on Saturday with my question regarding the correct spellling of Permacath or PermCath, or Perma-Cath.  I have been typing PermCath all the time until this doc specifically says Perma Cath, with the A.  I do have resource books.  I have the Surgical Word Book by Tessier.  On page 1614, Third Edition, it has Perma-Cath catheter and the Perma-Cath drain and on the next page it has PermCath dual-lumen catheter.  This was main reason for asking the question and you can see why I was confused since it is spelled both ways; with and without the A.

Thanks again.

To figure out if it should be follow up or followup (never follow-up as far as I know)

Replace followup with eat. If it makes sense it should be follow up.

Example "The patient will follow up with me in three weeks"

The patient will eat with me in three weeks"

It makes sense so follow up would be used.

But if you had

"The patient returns for a six month follow up"

and you replace it

"The patient returns for a six month eat"

That doesn't make sense, so you would use followup.

Hope this helps, it was an eye opener for me, as I was the queen of followup issues!!!

did they lol.

I was hoping someone here could clear it up for me as well but oh well.

It totally confuses me too, and after reading and re-reading in a moment of perfect clarity I got it, and then when I try to apply it to the sentence in question its gone again. But cheer up, maybe QA doesn't know either LOL.
