If they say the white count is 14.8 thousand do you write it out or is it just 14.8 or is it 14,800 ???

Can anyone help me? My report is on a person diagnosed with bacterial endocarditis, with progressive respiratory failure, pneumomediastinum and 103F temperature. an x-ray showed air under the high diaphragm. the white count was elevated to 18,200 from which 50% were (s/l) run. Am I hearing correct? Also, an EGD showed several  s/l "oon takes" in the stomach.  If you can help me I would appreciate it. Thanks
