nitroglycerine paste
Subject: nitroglycerine paste

I think it's probably "nitroglycerine paste". All the references I found equated it to Nitro-Bid or Nitrol. I'm thinking that since those are brand names, your doc is talking generic, but that's just my guess.

Levophed
Subject: Levophed

According to Rxlist, levophed is "a Norepinephrine Bitartrate Injection is a sterile, nonpyrogenic concentrated solution of the drug in water for injection. It is intended for intravenous administration only after dilution in dextrose containing solutions" I am sure the sterile part is correct. Hope this helps

Subject: the use of the term "epi" vrs. epinephrine

When a Dr. dictates the term "epi" in a report is it ok to type epi or would you type the whole word epinephrine .. it is an Operative report under Findings and Procedure. Is "epi" considered a slang term and not to be typed in a report?
Thanks for your help.
