MPJ/MTPJ

I also posted this on the main board --- Why is it that podiatrists state MPJ (metacarpophalangeal joint) of the hands when they are dictating on the MTPJ (metatarsophalangeal joint)? I have podiatrists who dictate this and have seen it on the internet in articles. I have modified my abbreviation for MPJ for this reason so that I don't insert the wrong expansion. Just wondered if others have run across this.
