Mental retardation is a medical condition. The doctor is not using the term in a derogatory manner, he is merely describing the patient's condition. You have no right to change this to anything other than what was dictated!

I've honestly never heard it abbreviated like that, but I did google *MRCP cerebral palsy* and that's what came up. Given the symptom of hypotonia, it definitely makes me think of cerebral palsy. Was there any sort of mental status testing done (just as a check)?

Here's the context: He smiles much of the time; he is cooperative.  Symptom status revealed that he knew that George Bush was the current president and that Bill Clinton preceded him.  He denies hearing any voices..... 


Symptom sounds similar to System, Simple, etc., for this example.  Any input?
