The official read of her MRI is that there is severe cervical spinal stenosis at the C6-7 level, with cord impingement in an area of high T2 **s/l sigmoid** intensity at this level presenting edema or gliosis......


Sigmoid just doesnt make sense to me here.  Any ideas?

There is a soft tissue **signal** surrounding the S1 nerve root.

The word is clear as a bell, but this term does not show up in any of my references or online. Anyone have an idea??
