If the doctor dictates cholesterol profile do you transcribe that or lipid profile?  Also, how do you transcribe total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and triglycerides after that?

experience.  I've asked questions before also but when I do, I will state the references that failed my efforts.  Everyone needs help now and again, but when someone leans too often on the power of the knowledge of others, it becomes a problem.  Will they remember what someone else _told_ them the next time that term/phrase comes up again?  Statistics have proven that 98% of what we retain is by learned by doing it first hand.  That means 98% of the people will not retain what they are told.  I like the quote "knowledge knows when to speak and wisdom knows when to listen."  I'm afraid we are somewhat short on wisdom on this board.
You're great. I'm new and still learning! Thank you.

"nm" that I see after some of the posts mean "no message" or something, so the MTs don't have to bother clicking on it for further text?  The "sm," is that "see message?"
