I always type postoperative day # and I've never gotten any negative feedback for it.  You might want to check with your particular QA department to get their take on it.  P.S.  I use the abbreviation "pod" for this.

Postoperative days

Which is the correct way to type postoperative days?

Postoperative day #1, or

Postoperative day number 1?

Postoperative day No. 1?

I want to get it right because I've been dinged for things like typing out numbers (four instead of 4).

Thank you!

I-PRO shoe?
Subject: I-PRO shoe?

The doc is describing an offloading shoe.  He pronounces it "I-PRO" but I can't find that anywhere.  The closest I can get is in my Stedman's Equipment Words, "ipos heel relief shoe," but the doctor specifically says it is to shift weight TO the heel, for a forefoot amputation site wound.  Anybody?

Subject: orthopedics--type of shoe--tarsal? Harstal? Harshall? Partial?

As you can see, I am really reaching for this one.  This is a type of shoe that is worn when someone has an ankle fracture. I'm thinking it could be "tarsal shoe" but then it almost sounds like "Harstel shoe" or something else entirely. I need an expert on shoe types and/or orthopedics to help me!
