help with EGD/EUS pls SM

Findings from EGD with EUS:

A _____ of mucosal nodularity was seen to extend past the EG junction....

It sounds like doc is saying a "tongue" or "tong" of mucosal nodularity.  I thought maybe doc was saying "A ton of mucosal nodularity" but that seems sorta slangy and incorrect.  Any suggestions?  Am I just overthinking this one?
