laryngoscopy or laryngostomy?

Subject: laryngoscopy or laryngostomy?

Pt. had lesion in left floor of mouth biopsied, squamous cell carcinoma. Dr. will go back to do a wide excision with skin grafting and possible redirction of submandibular duct, also will do s/l laryngoscopy? or laryngostomy? 


Used to him saying laryngoscopy and this sounds different but unsure...
