Cancer treatment cycles
Subject: Cancer treatment cycles

When transcribing oncology reports, does it matter how you spell out the cycles, such as:  The patient has received 2 cycles of chemo.   Or, is two cycles of chemo.  Or ..... does it matter?

I would think it would be account specific.  Some accounts want 2 as opposed to 2, and vice versa, etc.

1.2 mg IN 12 cc of chemotherapy
Subject: 1.2 mg IN 12 cc of chemotherapy

You heard it right. It is "1.2 mg IN 12 cc of chemotherapy."

It basically means the patient received 1.2 mg of a particular chemotherapeutic agent (which would be "specific" to her malignancy and which would be documented in her medical record/chart), mixed in 12 ml of a solvent which could be normal saline/dextrose water/or others, so that that particular chemotherapeutic agent that she is on, can be administered to her in the form of an injection.
