I have been transcribing for 15 years now, and most MDs use bandage scissors for uterine incision because they have a rounded edge and are not pointy, thus cannot injure the baby...just cut tissue between blades.

Scissors
Subject: Scissors

There's a plastic sheath that they use initially to place the sling and then they place scissors or a clamp between the urethra and the sling for support. I would think they would need to remove them, although some of them don't (insert embarrassed face here). I did some surgical reports, my first year working, for a hospital and they did lots of transobturator and tension-free tape procedures. It seems like they always "removed" the scissors. Never heard of an incisor in this procedure. :-)
