MTs like you and NewbieMT who show a lot of promise.

To answer your questions, I majored in medical secretarial and got my AA in that. After that, it was tough finding a job with no experience, but I managed to get a great job at an ivy-league teaching hospital. I worked as a medical secretary in the outpatient department for 7 years and then decided I hated the "front line" with the phones, appointments, yelling patients, screaming doctors (and doing transcription as part of that job, too), that I branched off into transcription. So, in total, over 30 years. Even after all this time, I haven't forgotten how terrifying it was starting out, so I really feel for you guys.

This MT shows promise, and a little mentoring won't hurt any of you, so relax. She's doing a great job on her own, and working hard, too.

If you all worked in a hospital setting, you would get this kind of help, too. I did, and I won't ever forget the help I received and how much I learned.

and type in "99-m diagnostic" google will question you with "99m" and provide you with technetium 99m. Ta dah! Double check to see if it is capped or not by going to a reputable website (i.e., mfr or such). Just a hint for future searches.

Not sure if anyone has found this site or not, www.mt-stuff.com.  I stumbled upon it when looking up a word on Google and thought it might be helpful to some.  There are samples of reports in the directory section of the menu plus other links.  Might want to check it out.

by investing in some MT reference materials. It's much easier (and much, much faster) to look things up that way, and learn as you are researching. Also suggest your getting someone to mentor you 1 on 1. This job is tough enough!!
