Thanks. Maybe better keep my mouth shut. (sm)
My main account is one of those with boldings on and off all over the place. Really a pain on ASR work.

Unless this gets to be more than a couple of minutes at a time I will just sit back and consider myself lucky.

Thanks for your help.
I have never been one to keep my mouth shut -this happened to me,and
I told the supervisor, who did put a stop to it.  Turns out this girl was assigning herself the good work and the supe didn't watch it.  However, I have also heard of other supes who just let it go, and if they did that after you mentioning it, I'd be on my way out the door, for sure.
I thought this was mgmt also but kept my mouth shut...nm

I don't wanna put words in the company's mouth

because I don't know if the insurance type/coverage varies from state to state or not.  I have to provide insurance for both my husband and I (through DeVenture) and well, that does take a bite out of the ol' paycheck I must admit.  However, when I was getting just coverage for myself, so long as I made 7000+ lines a week, they paid 90% of the cost, and that wasn't too shabbyof a deal at all.

I feel your pain! I decided to shut up rather than put up and quit my company. Better places out t

It does not say ALL. It says employees pay. Just like in a hospital.
My husband is a firefighter and he has to pay. I worked in four hospitals and always had to pay. It does not say how much, just that it is offered but not 100% covered.

They do hire people as hospital employees, but
it's not the great situation it's cracked up to be. The hospital complains about everything possible to the account manager, who gets nervous about losing the account and it's all downhill from there.

It's too bad because it's a great idea in theory. Unfortunately it's human nature to pass the buck and place blame on those at the bottom of the totem pole, so that leaves the nameless faceless MT's on a daily roller coaster of paranoia and hysteria.
Diskriter Florida hospital employees
Would anyone that works for the Florida hospital as a hospital employee through Diskriter care to share their experience?  Any info is appreciated, good or bad. Thanks!  Have a great and productive day!
Hope they're already told the employees at the hospital that they are out of a job. I don't t
they should post specifics like this.
Tip for new employees to any company

This may sound like simple and crazy advice but I was recently sweating bullets when I started a new job and afraid that I could not meet the line requirements.  I sat down on my day off and spent about 4 or 5 hours seriously updating my shortcut program. I must have added 10 times the amount of shortcuts that I had before.  The very next time that I worked I doubled my production and it has gone up every day since then.

So it may not be the new company you go to work for if you are worrying about making the line requirements. It may be your shortcut program needs some serious updating. That was sure true in my case.

There are probably still some rotten companies out there but I made a big difference myself and now I couldn't be happier at my new company!

I went from hospital to company

This is just my experience though.  I am sure it is different for everybody.  I had much better pay and better benefits at the hospital.  I also liked having my work done in 8 hours and leaving it there and going home.  What I mainly miss though is the $145 a month health coverage for the whole family.  It had a $100 deductible.  Also, I knew the area well and spent less time on Google than I do now.

The cons were the favoritism, office politics, pressure to buy stuff from charities, kids soccer teams, coworker's MLMs.   Plus we were all on production and the hourly people (other MR personnel) never completely understood and would talk loudly, interrupt us with the latest gossip, had multiple loud phone calls to their kids, spouses and ex-spouses.  Books were thrown, slammed down etc.   There were cat fights between coworkers.

I really like the work atmosphere at the MTSO better.  There is no one here but me.  The MTSO is much stricter on quality which is good because of that I feel I have become a better MT.  Overall, I do like the MTSO better except the pay, but I really would not recommend one to a newbie because you cannot call someone over to listen.

From the company owner to the employees
after somebody mistakenly forwarded an email from someone in India to the company employees- then they had to fess up. The person with the email slipup decided to "change jobs" within the company and it went to the pits after that with incompetent managers.
There are disgruntled former employees at any company
if you do your work and do it well you'll be fine at Diskriter.
Good company who employees nearly as many
a good company who always swore they would never offshore our work. Yup, good company. 1000 domestic MTs and 600 Indians.  They make MQ look loyal to the US!
You won't find anything like that with a company. Hospital sm

benefits are much different, but there aren't many of those jobs left.  They are tumbling to the nationals increasingly.

Wmx has 6 paid holidays for all full time employees.  Graduated rate of PTO, 5 days first year, 10 days for the next 5.  You won't find any company that offers any benefits at all to part time people, as far as I know.  The insurance cost at Wmx are cheaper than, and the coverage far superior to, any other companies I have seen.

A horrible company who does not value truth or the employees.

Well, that would depend on whether you are talking company or hospital. sm
Companies are low paying; however, clients of your own is where the $$$$ is.

VR editing 10 cpl with client
3 cpl with company.
Another company shares accounts at same hospital..
they pay well. contact phoenix med com at phoenixmedcom.com. they do lots of ortho too!
Probably each company has their own rules, but when I was working in a hospital sm

generally, it was 7a-3p for first, 3p-11p for second, and 11p-7a for third, not including lunch breaks.

Hope this helps.

Is there a company who offers benefits to parttime employees?
Just curious
I work for another company that advertises for new employees often with the same reaction. Maybe s
those who are NOT in-the-know should keep their opinions to themselves unless they know facts. The company I work for is hiring over 100 MTs as well due to two new accounts between now and the end of the year too. Maybe a few of the biggies have lost a few accounts that the mid-size MTSOs can handle in a more personal manner. Perhaps hospitals are FINALLY getting tired of the offshore garbage they are getting back from some of the other nationals. Either way, there are some major accounts changing services and a few of the mid-size MTSOs will need to pull from the transcriptionists out there looking for a better job!
You judge an entire company by the posts of 2 or 3 out of 500+ employees?
That amazes me with MQ too. A few people post but the what they write it taken as gospel.

Keystrokes is very well run; it is sad that someone can make a blanket statement about something they know nothing about.
Most company web sites have testimonials from LOTS of employees, not just one. sm

Kind of makes you think, doesn't it?  They just use that one tired rave review of yours.

As far as not having a problem with you being gone -- you're an IC!  You're SUPPOSED to be able to be gone when you need to be.   It is another place that doesn't seem to know the meaning of the idea of being an IC, although that is par for the course nowadays and I really cannot point them out as being the only one who does that.

It would seem best to let the CardioScribes thread die, but you had to bring it to the foreground again.

Actually, having employees work at home is a benefit...TO THE COMPANY
more than the employee. The company doesn't have to pay for office space, electricity, etc.....
Is there a listing anywhere that shows # of employees or size of company? nm )

our hospital needs info on a company called ChartNotesPRN - sm
Has anyone ever worked for them?  Do they offshore?  Please let me know.
Went from hospital to company using DQS, line count has definitely went down, don't get paid for
demographics even if we have to enter them in. I've put a lot more abbrev in my Expander since switching over to DQS to help compensate.
12 cpl editing; 18 cpl transcribing - not working for a company, but a hospital. nm

Who did they outsource too? Seems like I briefly worked for a company that did ER for a hospital in
either Wyoming or Montana. I cant remember.
Shut up?????
You must work for KS. All that emotional turmoil that is so obvious there and that anyone who does stay long enough will see for themselves. I have found it best to stay away from MTSO's where the drama comes from the top.
I really wish they'd shut D&L down
It's one thing if an MTSO has a rare problem with cash flow - and is up front and works to correct it.

It's another if their MODUS OPERANDI is to take the MTs hard work and then stall on the payment FOR MANY YEARS RUNNING. That's fraud, and they ought to be drummed out of business.
Shut them UP, and shut them DOWN!
X
Why don't you all SHUT UP.

People are loosing their TRANSCRIPTION jobs to INDIA and all you can worry about is who gets a better report?

LET IT GO!

To shut her/us up
Just to keep us quiet and entertained for awhile, IMO. I too went through the same exact circumstance when I ran out of work and asked to crosstrain. I patiently waited for the alloted time to arrive, then my liaison informed me that she had forgotten to save 5 jobs for me to train with and the account was EMPTY. I went through this 2-3 times during the training process.

I was so relieved to be getting a backup account that the OBVIOUS problem of there being no work on the backup account never occurred to me.

I think it's like putting Band-Aid on a gaping bullet hole. In other words, going through the motions of repair but much pointless.
Without Naming Company, Does anyone know cost of COBRA for out-of-state employees?
x
She is definitely an employee. This company in Georgia has 150+ employees. Forty hour
work week is one thing but having them get very upset when you are working 50-60 hours and be nasty when the account is still behind but saying no overtime, no way is a very different thing.  I advised her ask the department to check out this company and out get out of there anyway.
Does any company offer insurance to part'time employees? nm
xxx
I have a friend working in a hospital and she is looking for a company from home as an employee.
Would anyone care to recommend a good company?
The hospital may pay a line rate to the VR company based on usage...nm
xx
Shut up and move on.
Geez.
WHEN will victims of D&L shut them down?
All of you should band together and let THEIR clients know they are cheating you out of your fees, and tell then you will be taking D&L to Court so they can prepared to be subpoena'd. I DOUBT DL client's will tolerate this, and may force DL to clean up their act.

I have compassion for smaller companies for short-term problems, but they did this to me, too, and that was in 2002 (or 2003)!!
I'm with quit and shut up
If TT is someone's only source of income and TT has no work, why, why, why would someone just sit back and wait for the work to come to them. You do what you need to do if it takes 2, 3 or more jobs. Family responsibilities, health, and especially sole earner, just completely idiotic to sit back and wait. No get up and go for these people. Oh, I forgot, they have a child at home so they cannot work anywhere but home.
If we shut up as you suggest....
Duh!
It is not a company. This is a hospital, not a MT company.
sent you an email
You won't see your money. Come together and get her shut down for good.

Me too - the hospitals haven't shut down
nm
Lordy be ssmnger you just don't when to shut up do you? sm
You are doing nothing but shooting yourself in the foot and reinforcing Former SS Employee's point!!
Rapid Transcript, Inc- Does anyone have any recent info on this company...current/previous employees
I am wondering about anyone who has recently or is currently working for this company...any input is appreciated. There is some Bad talk about non-payment in the search archives from 2003-2004, but no recent talk. Just curious. :)
Did Ochsner Clinic in Louisiana get shut down due to

Solution: Shut down hospitals on weekends.

possibly -- it seems to have finally shut down the endless TT threads ...
I was beginning to think they needed their own board ...

I wasn't following them, but my impression is that they had been going on -- in some incarnation or another -- for several week ...

who would want to work for a company with so many so unhappy employees (even if the internet notoriously distorts just how many people are represented -- since the same people -- particularly the most incensed -- post over and over and over again -- creating the impression of great throngs of angry people)

I have no idea if TT's suit has merit ... just that such suits are not unprecedented and -- aside from unlikely-to-make-much-difference memos to their employees or public notices on boards like these -- represent the only way I'm aware of to defend one's good name.

If this served to educate the many folks here who thought that the first ammendment automatically protected them on line -- then good has already come from this.
