6000 lines for SE in Texas

Posted By: yakaback on 2005-09-08
In Reply to: MQ hours/lines - MQ'er

my region requires 6000 lines for SE, which i think sucks. I was lied to months ago. they said that all offices were going to require 6000 lines for SE's across the board. I don't know what would make me think they were telling the truth!!

I was told 6000 lines for 2 weeks when I hired
in as an SE 6 weeks ago.

Yes, 10 cpl, mininum of 5000 or 6000 lines per week I think. nm

6000 lines per pay period (2-weeks) and 20 hours per week that is
Just clarifying.
First, what kind of time frame are we talkin? 6000 lines in a week?

I ask because 6 cpl is horrible and if they expect you to produce 12,000 lines in a week in order to get 9 cpl, well that's just nuts.

But I digress, you original question was should you continue to work when you do not have access to your line count --> NO!  And the fact that you are getting the run around should be sending up red flags.

Now you couple that with the 6 cpl and I would have to say this place you work at sucks!

6000 per pay
s
SE, 0.875 cpl, 6000 l/pp, with
up to 2 cpl incentive for 16K l/pp and quarterly bonuses. Been there 2 months. Love it!

Got labor day bonuses of $40 for first 800 lines and $20 each 400 lines after that.

Getting bonuses this weekend with lots of "mystery" jobs for $10, $15, $20, $25, and $50!
WebMx will now have 800 MTs, MQ 6000. nm

1800 lines is easily achieved. I average 300-340 lines per hour. nm

10 lines per minute = 1500 lines for 150 minutes - average. nm

I average 1200-1400 lines per day with a national, and am only getting around 600-800 lines per day.
It's been this way since the day before Thanksgiving. I've been doing this for almost 30 years now, and more often than from Thanksgiving until the new year is the slowest time of the year. I have some months where I am swamped with up to 2000 lines per day. I stash that little extra money, and take advantage of a handful of extremely slow days this time of the year to actually cook dinner, decorate for Christmas, or do Christmas shopping. I actually anticipate this slow time every year and have grown to enjoy the breathing time. Any time I have attempted to pick up extra work with another company to supplement these slow times, the minute I get adjusted to the new accounts, etc. I have no time to finish all of my work because my full time job with national gets slammed again. Hang in there if you can, and hopefully your work will pick up significantly around New Years.
They work with you to make sure you get the lines required or the amount of lines you want...
I have never had a problem getting more work

TSI in Texas
I worked in a hospital where TSI picked up the overflow. I worked with them for a couple of years before quitting that job. I got hired on with them a year or two later. I turned my notice on day #90. Disorganized. Too much down time. Poor technical support. Marketing rep making promises MTs could not deliver on. Swapped around on accounts left and right, each time waiting up to 3 days for tech support to make the adjustments on their end. Poor sound quality. Difficult platform. And don't get me started on the attitude of the owner (long private story).
This used to be TSI out of Texas
Check the boards! I worked for this company and left because of management issues. If you have a problem they don't want to hear anything about it! Not sure if they changed platforms but the one I used was archaic and was paid by the word. You also had to have about 3 phone lines to hook into their system. Was a real pain!

MTS of Texas
I don't see very much about MTs of Texas.  If anyone out there is currently working for them or you are familiar with them, I would appreciate it if you share.  Thanks in advance.
I think they are all in Texas. nm

Anyone from MTs of Texas?
I just accepted a position with MTs of Texas and am very excited.  Anyone else from MTS of Texas? Looking to network with fellow colleagues.
MTS of Texas
Would like to hear from present and past transcriptionists regarding this company.  Good and bad, i.e., does getting paid by the minute earn you a good pay check, good accounts, platforms, etc.  Thanks for your time.
Thanks. No, not in Texas. NM

Does anyone type on Texas

Are there alot of ESLs on the Texas account?

To Texas Girl...

Actually, my BOB - 10+ accounts for which I have 3 primary accounts out of - has standardized client profiles, no need look at client profile for each account or try to remember different rules. All now have the same formatting rules and ADT info requirements and very few dictator-specific differences. I realize that not all service areas have done this yet and not all areas of MQ are managed the same and I probably would not be as happy if I were in one of those, but I stuck it out and they made the changes promised in my area and I am now so much more productive. The accounts are better than I had before MQ as far as number of ESL and other difficult dictators, the ASR reports on average are good and I can more than make up for the 30% cut in pay on them - only get on average 5 or 6 a day though.

I guess it depends on where you end up when hired at MQ how good or bad things are. I have moved around a lot over many years in this business and probably will stay here until retirement if I am able - depending on what happens with CBay and all. I have found the right fit for me with MQ with adequate pay, the schedule I want, plenty of work, reliable paycheck and PTO - a big plus after a stint being IC, and nobody hanging over my shoulder watching my every move. The only time I ever hear from anybody is in answer to a question I have asked and the daily TAT logs from my PS. That is the way I like it, leave me alone to do my thing. I have no reason to leave.

I am glad you found the right place for you, having only one account that is always busy is the best situation to be in. You are lucky because that is not so easy to find anymore.

You definitely did NOT want the Texas account
Can you say ESL, I knew you could.
Tyler Texas

Was this acct in Tyler, Texas?  Where my friend works they lost some of their work to Transcend and she lives in Texas.

Texas Hospitals
I am currently working for a Texas Hospital as well. They are not even open as they do not have power and are not sure WHEN they will be back. So my work has been NONE since about the same time frame.

Here is to hoping there are better times ahead for our Texas Hospitals and for all the Texas Hospital Transcriptionists.
Any info on MTs of Texas

I am looking for Radiology information specifically, but any info would be fantastic!!

Thanks so much!

Not slow in Texas.
HI:   My account is in Texas, but not the company.  No we are not slow.  Try applying with KS.  I think they are hiring too.  Have to warn you that it is a very hard account.  Old veteran MT's are stressed out from working there.  They demand that you are fast, very accurate, which you should be anyway and also willing to work at any time if they are overloaded with work.  I kid you not.  They will call you too on your days off to get more help.   OH WELL.  So if this sounds good to you, go for it.
I HOPE IT'S IN TEXAS!!! nm
x
Why in Texas specifically? I would think - SM
labor laws would pretty much encompass the entire US, e.g., minimum wage laws apply in all 50 states, laws regarding overtime pay, etc.  The rampant abuse MTSOs have been allowed to get away with affects MTs EVERYWHERE, from sea to shining sea ... MTs in OK, NJ, FL, OR, NC, I could go on and on... all of them have bills to pay, children to feed, and these MTSOs in sheeps clothing likewise lurk in all corners of the country.
SurgicalNotes out of Texas?
Just wondering if anyone has any information on them, works for them, knows someone that works for them, etc?

Just got a job offer from them but really don't want to walk into yet another company that isn't worth the headache. The $$$ is very tempting but want some facts first.

Thanks
Minimum lines for FT used to be 60,000 keystrokes a day, about 925 lines. Pay was good. Just not a
