MQ offices
you got it---no, all offices are not run the same, some have different line requirements, some offer incentives, bonus's and even give a yearly review with a possibility of a raise--of course, all those things that i just mention do not pertain to my office. we have no incentives, bonus's, and i can;t remember the last time we were given a yearly review. if you wanted a raise you needed to call and ask and then follow up on it and hope that you would get one--i only wish that MQ did run all their offices the same--if you have a choice, go to the Ohio MQ office, my girlfriend is there and they are the best--stay away from the northeast
MQ offices
Not only stay away from the Northeast but the Southeast -the company is a complete disaster, and every office does as it pleases to suit the administrative people, NOT the MT.
MQ offices
The MQ office by me was told there is a hiring freeze for office workers, so they are quite concerned about their office.
been through three offices sm
since March! Going to Florida office starting September 1 with payroll being done in Dallas. Currently with Atlanta but was transferred there from Durham NC in March or April. Can't remember. If you are making 9.5 cents a line YEAH! I have been with them since 1983 when they were Transcriptions Limited and doing your job, doing extra, etc. etc. will get you a raise.
been through three offices
I work on four different accounts. They are very large accounts that I have worked on since 1990. I am not sure it would be appropriate to name them on a public board though. Sorry. How long have you worked for MQ?
There are so many MQ offices.... sm

and as far as I can tell from all the posts, each one operates as if it were a separate company.  So when you state that you are happy at MQ, isn't it true that you are one of the lucky ones who happens to be at a good MQ office?  It's so confusing when an MQ MT says they are happy and encourages others to apply. Wouldn't I be applying to "MQ" and thus end up where they place me?  Or does each office hire on their own?  And if some offices are better than others, why don't MTs who are so unhappy transfer to a good office?  I don't get it.

(Note:  I posted this way down below but I figured it would get more attention here on top)

re so many MQ offices

when a MQ emp encourages you to apply, they should give their name & office location to put on your application (under referral).  Then they MIGHT be eligible for a ref bonus and you would be hired into that office, hence, would be with a good office.  Unhappy people and all those 'why's mentioned are definitely hard to figure.

p.s. i tried to respond under appropriate post but system wouldn't let me.

They have offices in CA and NY, as well....
as India.
What offices have you worked for in MQ and which one are you in now.
:
local offices

what is the best way in getting starting for working for local doctors?  Get business cards made up, show them a resume?  I have often thought about this and afraid to take the leap.  is this reliable work?  I'm sure they can let you go whenever they want but I guess that's the case anywhere.    please, any info would help.

nurses in offices
You can get a job as a nurse in a doctor's office. That is M-F, 9-5. You can also get a job as a home health nurse or a nurse at a large business or a school. There are lots of options besides hospitals with their graveyard shifts.

I think nursing is good job security. The job ads in our local paper are really drying up *except* ads for nurses.
Many doctors' offices have something else

Maybe they don't call it transcription or VR, but my doctors use a laptop on a rolling cart that they take from room to room.  It's a point and click system, though they may enter vital signs and drug names manually.  They tell me that it produces reports so that there is no need for any transcriptionists or editors.

Where I currently work, less than 3% of the reports are standard transcription; everything else is VR.

Which three offices will remain open?
Do you know?
Heartland already closed two offices

in India...they are surely closing down entire transcription business by coming December

Sources saying they were never making any money in transcription business. How will someone make money by sending work overseas and that too not keeping a track of what each individual Transcriptionist or Editor or QA is producing?

heard they are moving offices. NM

Give me the good points on your MQ offices - sm

No flames!  Give me the good points on your MQ office that you work for i.e. leave you alone, great platform, no schedule necessary, nice people, easy to learn, nice work, etc.

Thanks!

Can someone tell me if the MQ offices are still running out of work all the time or what is
happening with that please.
or maybe some offices still have poor mgmt & skills

Nearly all the offshore companies have front offices in the U.S. sm
Sometimes their actually hotel rooms.  They use international phone numbers and purchase a phone # in the U.S.  In point of fact, clients many times don't even know they are dealing with an offshore company.  The owner of this website has done extensive reseach and knows who offshores and who doesn't.  It isn't that hard to figure out when you start connecting the dots, i.e., visit the website and there is no place for MTs to apply. Almost all U.S. based companies have a place to apply.  Notice that all the offices, including those in other states, all have the same address and phone number.  And notice if you call that 24/7 phone number you always get a voice mail.  There are lots of ways to tell.   The offshoring companies are getting more sophisticated about how they work things.  And some hospitals are getting more persistent about not contracting with services who are offshore.  It's a shill game. Dishonest and deceitful.
I guess this means there are regional offices?
There is an ad in the Job Seeker's board. Cannot tell who exactly placed it.
No regional offices, just two totally different companies sm
MDI in Maryland and there is an MDI in Florida. MDI in Florida is owned by Transcend.

MDI in Maryland is a totally different company - good company as far as I know.
Some people who work in offices have that benefit, but no MT
booooooo
Irony - MQ is closing offices and Keystrokes just built a new one. sm

I was part time with MQ and full time with KS and now will be KS only.  I am radiology, make great money and have a great lead.  I would recommend them to all MQ MTs that are thinking of leaving.

The email is KeystrokesNow@aol.com.   The fax is (630) 729-3177.

We do not have a referral bonus, I am just trying to help everyone that is feeling displaced.

allegiant
I spoke with a woman from there today. I have seen a few posts on other sites about them, nothing bad. The woman was very friendly. The pay she told me was 4 cpl during training, and 7 cpl after making 98%. Keep in mind that I am a new MT, so this pay rate may have that factored in.
Sorry...this was about Allegiant. nm

To Allegiant MT (SM)

Would you kindly answer the following questions as I am seriously considering placing my resume with Allegiant.  I would really appreciate your input.

What if something happens and you cannot type the required amount per day (sickness, doctor app.,etc.)

Are there many ESLs

On average how many doctors do you transcribe for?

Do you get to keep the same doctors or are you switched around a lot?

Do you ever run out of work?

Do you find the EMDAT system user friendly?

Are you required to buy any software, etc.?

Is high speed internet required?

Is all work IC with no benefits?

Do they have full time work?

Allegiant
I LOVE working for Allegiant. The owners are awesome ladies who are transcriptionists too, so they understand your needs and truly do care about you. My account is clinic work (Monday-Friday), a few ESLs but vast majority are good dictators. It took me about two months to get up to speed...learning new system, new accounts, new voices, adding tons of new autokeys...I started in mid May and now can sign on, transcribe for 2, maybe 2-1/2 hours, and reach my required 500-line limit for the day. Of course, you're always welcome to do more when work is available (which is pretty much all the time except for Monday mornings). Sometimes I get up in the middle of the night to work, sometimes it's mid day, sometimes late in the evening.

I truly couldn't be happier working for anyone else. Of course, there are those who say the pay is not up to standard. But...I'm left alone to do my job, I work when I choose to, I don't have to work weekends, and I'm doing clinic notes (not complicated surgeries), so it's pretty basic transcription without a lot of research involved.

Allegiant Transcription completely suits my needs. I'm one happy camper! Please feel free to email me.

This company has a job posted here and I was thinking to apply.  I would like to hear good/bad things about this company, pay rate fair, how are they to work with.  They do say, though, the platform is EMDAT, which I have heard is a bear to work on.  What is your opinion?  Thanks
Allegiant
Excellent company to work for.  Always pay on time.  Owner is great and very helpful.  I love EMDAT and have been working with it for 6 years.  Best of Luck.
Allegiant
I have been unable to contact them also.
allegiant
QA is great - pay is always on time or early. Have been with them since last winter.
allegiant
I also have been with them since November. It is a smaller company growing very quickly.  Pay is always on time.  Owner is great.
Try Allegiant.
They are clinic.
Allegiant
I have worked for the company before. Good company, good dictators, part-time work, easy platform, 1 or 2 accounts, not the best pay, IC status, not so much work anymore.
ALLEGIANT ANYONE????? (nm)
nm
Allegiant......
I don't work for them but someone that does told me they are very easy to work for, very family friendly, that you work your designated times and have it back within 24 hours. EMDAT has a line count built in and she says she checked it against another at the beginning and it is very accurate. You set your own days but must meet TAT and not take advantage. That's all I know.
Allegiant
Offered a position with Allegiant.  I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if their line rate is character or gross.  Are there still companies out there that pay by the gross line?
Allegiant
I worked for them briefly. Super nice owner. Pay's a little low, but overall, it is a great company.
Dont you just love how these offices screw around with your income. It is very annoying and I
sometimes wonder if they get the full implication of what they are doing to our paychecks because they are stupid enough to believe you can do all hospitals exactly the same which of course you cant.
Today is Columbus day, and state offices and post office
is closed. Perhaps some docs took a long weekend. Maybe that is why on this particular Monday the work is trickling in. I am just getting some work now. So maybe it will come in later. Just an idea, about it being a holiday.
Allegiant Transcription?
Anyone with any information on this company?
Allegiant transcription
I was offered a job by Allegiant Transcription. I was told that 1st check could be delayed for 6 weeks depending on when the clint pays them. I am a little worried that this is not a reliable company. HELP PLEASE!
Anyone know anything about Allegiant Transcription Co? If so...sm
please respond..How is their pay scale, any benefits, pay on time, dictators...TIA!  Happy MT week all!

Has anyone heard of or worked for Allegiant Transcription.  I am looking for any information good or bad.  Thanks.

Allegiant MT - Maybe this will work (sm)

I don't know why my email would be invalid. I am listing it again but also enclosing my questions here if you want to answer them on the board.  Sorry for the trouble.

I am looking for a company that will let me make my own hours.  I just applied with Allegiant.  If anyone can give me any information about them I'd greatly appreciate it.  Thanks in advance and have a great holiday weekend
Allegiant and Dial-Up???
While we're on the subject does anyone know if Allegiant and their EMDAT program are compatible with dial-up? I feel your pain, allinadayswork, as I'm in the same boat. However, I suppose we could get satellite if we could afford it but I see a lot of companies specify no satellite also. Living in the sticks does have its drawbacks! As for MedQuist, when I was supposed to switch over to their DocQScribe program the techies couldn't get it to work and they finally figured out that my dial-up connection was too slow. So not all dial-ups are created equal! MY ISP provider's recommendation was move to town. Good luck to you!
Allegiant Transcription

Has anyone ever heard of this company or had any experience with them?

Allegiant, You See Solutions, etc - sm
You can even go to www.emdat.com and they have a list of the different companies that utilize their program.
Is Allegiant still hiring?

I was wondering if they're still hiring. I'm having trouble getting in touch with with anyone there.
