I need some information on a company called
Astat, such as pay, platform, enough work, QA, loan PCs, etc.  TIA
Anyone hear of a company in New Hampshire called TTS. Not much recently in
the archives about them.
Does anyone know anything about a company called Heart of Georgia Health Information Services? (sm)
I am beginning a job search and this was one of the services that I came across.  Has anyone worked for them and had good or bad experiences that they could share?  TIA
You will be called management
but my hospital went to VR, not a company so either stay or get another job.
That's the problem with MT - too much so-called *management* - sm
that doesn't know jack about medical transcription. Do yourself and your potential MT subordinates a favor, and get into another type of business.

Sheesh........
Did they hear it from a management sm

person?  That is interesting because we are supposed to have another town meeting call Wednesday and they always use those to make announcements of things like that.  I wouldn't be suprised if they announced they will no longer be paying the highest VR rate out of all the companies.  This company has gotten worse and worse over the past 6 mos to a year, it is about making them the most money and paying us the least.

Management. From what I hear, many MTs are also unhappy (sm)
with their pay as a result of the implementation of ASR. Management has a pattern of taking a myopic view of limited data, then applying that to a larger picture. That's adversely affecting processes and job satisfaction in many positions throughout the company.

I was told that everyone in QA starts at about $16 an hour. Sounds like they can't even be honest about that.
Can We Hear from Management please, even anonymously.

How is it that you require say 1,200 lines and 8 hours a day to qualify as a full time MT, yet you overhire to the point that this is impossible to accomplish??  You want us to use our PTO during **slow work** days?  They have ALL become slow work days.  Furthermore, how would you like to use your PTO while you are at work?  Do you not plan vacations with that?  Do you really expect to keep qualified MTs when you do not supply them with work?  This is nothing new and nothing occasional.  This has become the norm with so many companies.  You are MISMANAGING YOUR ACCOUNTS!!!  This is something YOU have done.  The responsibility for this should not fall back to the MT who has absolutely no control over the work flow.  And by the way, while 1,200 lines a day might make you happy - I personally need more income than that.  If you don't want to increase our pay rate - how about increasing the number of lines we are ALLOWED to transcribe??

Any response whatsoever to explain this would be greatly appreciated!  Remain anonymous if you wish, but please tell me where the logic is in this.

HDS Medical Information Management

Specialized Transcription Services
anyone know any info on Specialized Transcription Services out of Renton, WA??
I specialized for years, not on purpose....
... it just happened that way. I spent the first 36 years or so of my career doing strictly clinical; only moved into acute care 8 months ago because my beloved oncologist boss of nearly 28 years closed his practice, and I still needed to eat now and then.

In addition to the oncology practice, I did (and still do) orthopedics for many, many years as an IC. So I have well over 20 years in both those subjects. When you work with few docs, you get to where you can do their work on autopilot, very, very quickly.

I got paid more but that's only because those were local accounts, with the pay commensurate with the cost of living in our area. In fact, if I didn't still have that one local ortho account, I wouldn't be able to live on what I make on my acute care job for a national.
There is a company called
in Texas that I would strongly recommend staying away from. I worked for this company for a little over a month but the platform made it way to hard to get any reports in. The pay was good but without reports, no $$$. Anyway, when speaking with these people I was told that they would pay for the return of the equipment if the position did not work out. When I decided to leave, I called and was instructed on how to return the equipment (foot pedal). Once doing this, I received a bill from Fed-Ex as now they are not going to pay for it. When I talked to them in June, I was told to fax them the bill and they would take care of it. Today, I received another bill from Fed-Ex. I'm going to pay this bill but I just wanted to let you all know how shady this company is.

When they are trying to suck you in they act all "Christian like" but when things don't work out the horns come out. Be careful!
Anyone know of a company called
Just Your Type Transcription out of Illinois?  Any opinions?
I called the company....sm
and the position has been filled.  I had applied for it as well.
Have you called the company?
I am sure you are posting here as a last resort, but just checking to see if you did call them first. I do hope you get your check. Big or little does not matter.... every penny is important here, as I am sure it is for you, too.
Have you called the company? nm

Anyone know company called Palm-Med?

STAY AWAY!!! This company used to be called...

Quality Medical Transcription in Blue Springs, MO (which is not far from Pleasant Hill, MO), owned by the same contact person.  Not only do they offer ridiculous line rates (7 cpl w/o spaces IC status), when I worked with them my pay checks always bouced....that is after they would actually show up.

Unless you are just absolutely desperate for work....I sincerely do not recommend working for this family.

Also, check out the link below (same person/family)

Really bad management. This company will
never tell you the truth about anything. There are much better companies out there and if I were to work for them it would be on a part-time basis only. If you are full-time with them they will hound you to death.
Company called Transcription Unlimited (sm)

There used to be a company by that name in Independence, Missouri that was ran by Linda Hill.  Now I see it is a company that students of a community college in Kansas City do their internships at.

When I search for information on Transcription Unlimited it comes up with a company from out of state.

Any info appreciated.

Which company has the best management/team leaders

Can you give your experience of which companies have the best people in place for their team leader/supervisors, and what you liked about that person/company?  In other words, what set them apart from other places you've worked.  Thanks!
