Do you believe things happen for a reason? sm

I interviewed and tested for a in-house job in January.  Good paying job with good benefits. I was told I would be called no matter what.  Never heard anything. Called and left messages. I have a prepaid Tracfone and ran out of minutes and couldn't afford any more until this past weekend.  Found a message on there from this hospital from the end of Feb.  I called back Monday and was basically told I had the job, that they were very impressed with me as I had done the best ever on the test.  Today she calls back and tells me she is sorry, but unbeknownst to her they had offered the job to someone else a few days earlier.  I am so upset. If I had gotten the message earlier, I would have had the job. I'm just beside myself.  She said they might have another opening later on if they can get it approved.  Yeah right in this economy?  I'm hoping down the road I'll find out this was for the best, but right now its a bad blow and I'm beating myself up. I do have a job now that I hate and am basically living in poverty.  Thanks for letting me vent.

We are all human and things happen! No big deal. Just tell them
you will be taking test sometime during the week. No need to pressure yourself and hurt yourself for a test that you can take anytime.

Things can happen give it time-they are not ones to

specific company name?
nm
which company are you referring to then? nm

What company are you referring to?

Thanks. This is not the company to which I was referring.

Maybe it was just directed to the people on specific accounts or a specific software platform. nm

I was told to only ask about a specific company, but that was the problem..
I didnt even know who to apply with and all I wanted was recommendations, which I guess is not allowed. I certainly didnt expect anyone to offer me a job from my post. It's just nice to hear what others have to share about the company they work for, which some of us may not even know about to specifically ask about. Oh well. sorry you got deleted. I feel your pain.
She asking for initials for specific "account" not company.

Is it usual for company to assign specific jobs?
I'm just so frustrated right now.  I've had some jobs assigned to me that are from one of my backup accounts, not just one but many, and many ESLs, which has really brought my line count down.  I know I have to just deal with it, but I'm wondering if this is a normal occurrence.  I got hired under the idea that I was on a low ESL account, which my main account is, but not the backup accounts.  This doesn't happen all the time, but it is happening more frequently now.  Do I have a reason to be frustrated with this, or should I just get over it and accept it?
?? company board, can talk about specific companies by name (nm)

Why Google web? Compile a Stars company-specific list.
Immediately above the first post about 'Dictation 9 cents' whatever, and next to the 'Post New Message' button is a Search box. Use that one and get what you are looking at - only company specific. Why go outside the source? this is much easier.
I had never had this happen until I worked for my last company -
Your story sounds very similar to mine. I wonder, does your company have initials that start with D by chance? My main account had a few ESLs, but nothing like what was on the backup accounts, which soon very nearly became my primary because I was assigned to do jobs from them every day. I would just finish a batch of them and here would come another! They seemed to be the worst ESLs and the worst reports under the sun. I went from an easy 1200 lines a day on my primary to scrambling around to get 1000 and working 2 extra hours on the secondary accounts.

It was not like that in the beginning for me either. Everything was fine. They used to ask how things were going, etc., and fairly distributed the work. Then the company grew really quickly and they just dished out whatever work to whoever was on at the time, with little to no regard if it was your secondary or not. I suddenly felt like I was being fed a steady diet of garbage because quite frankly, though I complained and fussed, I could wade through it.

Their idea is that the work needs to be done by someone. I am sure it is not personal. You are just a body to them. Just decide if you can deal with it day after day. After 6 months of this and it steadily getting worse, I finally decided to quit after nearly 2 years with them. There are companies out there who offer better work assignments and care about their people. Best of luck to you! :-)
I had something similar happen with a different company
It drove me nuts, too.  It certainly doesn't make you feel appreciated, does it?
Just thinking it may be nice for others to know the name of the company IF they happen to hire
again in the future.......
There are lots of things a company can tell from
Maybe they don't care about how you pay your bills, but the credit report also has previous addresses (as in how many times you've moved) and previous companies you've worked for (as in how many times you've changed jobs). Also, if there are a lot of delinquent payments, they can assume you'll be interrupted at home (during your shift) with dunning calls. Personally, if I were an employee, I'd hire someone with late payments, knowing they need the job!!
It's a separate company with different ways of doing things
Transcend is a public company and owned by shareholders, and MDI is a major shareholder.

I have been at MDI for several years and I have not noticed any change in the way it is run.

I just love this company! I have only great things to say
about them.  Pay on time, very nice and helpful people, excellent company!
Your company might stink, but the ExText is one of the best things out there! Good
s
See, my company has these things called days off! Cool, huh?!?!
NM
Depends upon how your company counts things, I suppose. sm

I like both platforms.  Bayscribe is easy to use, and the Expander emulates PRD+, which I was used to.  The spellchecker is kind of clumsy -- that could definitely use some tweaking.  The thing I liked the most about Bayscribe was at the end of each report, you saw the line count for that report and how much you made, plus a total of lines for all reports and the total number of lines you had made for the day.

I am currently using ExText, and it is also easy to use.  I have to go to ichart to view my line count, though, and you cannot get it on a report-to-report basis.   The CTRL+I feature is useless to me since my employer does not count headers or footers.  I quit using it because I hated to see what a big difference there was at the end of the day.  I could do 300 lines per hour on Bayscribe.  With the current setup, maybe 250.  I can do 300 if I just sit and type as fast as I can with no breaks, but that cannot last for 8 hours solid.

Either platform is okay.  I still kinda miss WP51 -- think DOS-based programs were faster -- but you can't hold on to a dinosaur.  And, obviously that is just my opinion.  Hope it helps.

The company does if you contact them about the job. I like to inquire before writing things off nm

at first impressions.

I think she is referring to company policies not the policies on this board. sm

Sorry, I should have been more specific. sm

Mostly, just the usual -- are you happy there?  Would you recommend it to your friends?  Pay on time?  Work flow consistent?

Thanks!

More specific please- MS in NJ or FL? nm
.
Can you be more specific on what you'd like to know? sm
Good benefits (PTO, pd holidays, life, medical, dental insurance); good amount of work available (except this week has been slow on some accounts); they provide equipment (you do pay deposit, returned at time of leaving); direct deposit, always on time pay; easy to use platform (but you need high speed Internet); good training and I LOVE my manager (responsive to emails and phone calls, doesn't micromanage me).

Weak spot would be tech support (depends who you get).
Can you be more specific? nm

Were they at all specific about SM

what they meant when they said typing skills?  That is so vague.

You need to be more specific, such as ....

Employee status or IC?

Benefits?

Work type?

Set schedule?

Okay, but that's not very specific (sm)
I guess I should have asked for all opinions happy and otherwise. If you work for Webmedx, would you mind telling what has been the problem?
Can you be more specific?
Turns out they are not hiring for a month or two anyway!
Sorry, I should have been more specific.sm
MDI MTs will be getting a call in October/November and will find out then what the offer is.
TT..please be more specific about platform..sm
You say you like the co...please tell me what kind of platform you work on and are you able to increase your line count using the platform easily? Good incentives?
Yes, they do. Maybe your specific experience
does not match up with the positions they have available right now?

Can you be more specific? This doesn't help at all. nm
nm
I don't know about these specific companies
Ablescribe in the mid-TN region and they are hiring. Pretty simple work, a nursing home same 4 or 5 docs and a lot of the same patients daily too. My sis works there and loves it.

I am from TN too!

ablescribe.com, I believe.
could you be more specific on what you love so much about it?
nm
Ask about specific companies. (NM)
Goldbird

Could the replies be more specific
I am considering them also and would like more substantial information than vague statements.  That is no help at all.  Please if anybody has any experience with them or works for them, please I would also like to know how they are.
Could you be a little more specific? Your post
completely... too many metaphors. Not a lot has happened at my end, but who's to say other people have heard other things. What finally prompted you to jump ship, other than the obvious India-based thing?
This is when you turn over specific
examples to your supervisor and get some answers. I would keep a record of every inconsistency and send them in.
Cannot name specific accounts.

specific answers ..
hi ..

1. Does the ShortHand Expander work on DocQScribe?

not sure .. pretty sure it does.

2. How easy is the platform to learn?

very ... just use keyboard commands instead of mouse

3. How easy is the platform to navigate around when you are in a report -- and are there a lot of steps to saving, sending, etc?

I find it easy and there are not a lot of steps ..

4. Can you look up prior patient reports?

no

5. Can you make your own templates?

You have to put them in the expander and it depends on company policy; they do not want cut and paste as it can affect formatting on client end

6. How is the spellchecker?

okay

7. Can a fast typist make good line counts?

yes .. friend does over 300

8. Is the line count mechanism accurate?

mine has been when I checked it

From my experience, it is a great system.

I too lost production but I started using it but that has been true for me with any windows-based program I have worked on ..
give me back my DOS and WP .. .that is when I used to make good money .. LOL

good luck to you .. you will be fine

PS - However, The speech recognition of MQ (ASR) is terrible unless you have really great dictators.

you dont need your specific

numbers to do your FAFSA.  There's a question on the renewal that asks if you've filed your taxes yet, you just say no.

I've not gotten my W2 from TT, and I don't see ANY excuse for that.

Then, obviously, be more specific in your posts
When you post something as vague as your post, you should realize you're leaving far too much open to question. And if you'll read my post, you'll see I tried to clarify in which direction you were attempting to with your ambiguity.

Before you get your feathers ruffled, re-read what you're posting to make sure it conveys the message you are trying to get across.

Glad you weren't sniping at her, though.
I think she is referring to
what you said in your post about this lady being an idiot.  I don't think that was bullying or anything.  Although, I was not looking for an opinion on a person here, I was simply looking for feedback on my post.  And NO I am not putting you down for anything you said in your post.  I really don't want this thread to turn into personal attacks and all the other junk I have seen on this board.  I just want some feedback.  Thanks all.
Which MDI are you referring to? - sm
If you are referring to MDI-FL, I use IT ProV with one of their progrmas, and it works great. They have very good benefits for employee, but I would ask the recruiter about that. Hope this helps.
Which OSi are you referring to? sm
I heard bad things about the OSi in Florida (Outsourcing Solutions or something like that), or are you talking about the other OSi in Pennsylvania (I think)?  Thanks a lot!
What are you referring to?
nm
I think you are referring to the other OSI...
Opti-Script is out of State College, PA and I'm pretty sure they don't outsource. I like them so far. MT friendly and nice people.
