Could be.

In Reply to: Now I know why none of my primaries... - MDIer

From all of the postings here, I don't get the feeling there are that many MDI MTs who are crosstrained on more than 2 or 3 accounts, maybe 4, so I'm not sure that's the answer to your primary being slow, but, then again, it could well be why. I'm not sure it would be fair to point the finger at cross trained MTs who are proactive in getting in their lines. Every single one of us has the opportunity to do this too. The days of transcribing on one hospital account for 15 years are surely long gone for a very long list of reasons - and I doubt cross trained MTs are anywhere near the top of that list. Just my thoughts though.

I only wrote about this because it sure seems to be the biggest complaint by MDI MTs, of having no work. And we all know that balancing work flow on accounts by the supervisors and owner/s is never easy and is seldom what we or they hope for. I don't know how many times I see lots of work and no one seems to be working - and I wonder about the posts here and where is everyone who says they don't have work. I wonder, well, are they all on other accounts where there is simply no work? I want to holler, hey, there's work over here!! I don't know the answer.

I had the same experience, not even enough work on account I cross trained on to get the 5 reports for the 30 days. My response? I asked for yet another account. If that one ends up overstaffed, I ask for another.
