Neither. You can copy into Word but cannot copy back into Emdat.

Do you follow along with the mouse? I follow allow with my right arrow, the cursor going over the
words...I mean what do you do with the mouse exactly? I know that is a weird question, but I am still not getting it...haha! It could be a difference in platforms for sure, because my mouse is completely worthless to me in VR. I used EXText.
Format
The program is very easy to learn - literally only takes a few minutes. The daily line count really depends on your typing speed. My speed is not what it could be because I have a 6yo at home with me and have several interruptions during my shift with dinner, ball practice, etc. But, on a good day with no interruptions, I would say a minimum of 1000 lines. No need to apologize for the questions. Feel free to ask all the questions you want. It's better to know what you're in for before you jump in head first with any company!
It does not format everything according to sm

specs.  Many times, no headings are made, things are not spaced the way the account wants it to be.

Do not believe the lies they are telling you.  I work on it now and it does not do what they are telling you it does.

I mean platform, not format
.
It's all in the margins and format

when comparing a gross line count to a character count, but my goodness, .23 a line sounds like it cannot possibly be true.  My gross lines accounts don't convert that way at all.  One doc has a 1-inch margin and her gross line count is just slightly above the 65-character count because she doesn't do lists and keeps her PX in paragraph format.  If you are being told it converts to .23 a line, I would wonder if most of the whole report is indented half-way across the page.  Maybe you hit upon a gold mine!   Ask about the format...

I have to put that leading 0 and use h:mm:ss format
or it doesn't add correctly, but yeah, I found on playing with it that I could just enter them in that way, then do a sum and it added up just fine without any special formatting or customizing cells.

And, thanks for the information and the offer. Most of the time I don't know enough to even know what question to ask. I just made that discovery and thought I'd throw that out there in case somebody else was in the same boat. :)
I did not see any format rules.
As far as reformatting, I use macros to make formatting changes that seem to be frequently necessary.
You can format Shorthand to...sm
put the ctrl+n keystroke into your text. You don't have to go back and reformat the headers that way.
MDI-MD resume format question
I sent them a resume a couple of weeks ago, but it was in word perfect format. Should I have converted it to a .doc file?
How about providing some samples of format? sm
OK, so transitioning can be tough, but for an MT with that kind of experience, I would assume that with a few samples of format to follow she could be up and running in no time. I would not mess with them. Something is weird.
Thank you! What is the format like, and is it timed? Any info helpful please. Thanks! nm

Does it format for a SSN - can you put in a note that you will provide it if hired? nm
nm
Just paste it and let it go. They're looking for content, not format, when ....sm
...the resume is sent via a web contact form. If you are a good MT with good qualifications, they won't care how it's set up, but do make sure words are spelled correctly. That's a huge bugaboo when I read resumes.
You will have to completely format the hard drive first
delete any partitions and create a new partition, format the C drive and then install Windows XP. I have done this a ton of times and have had no problems.
Clinic notes. SOAP is the format,

Excel date/time value vs. format
It's helpful to understand how Excel handles date/time. (In all examples below, you don't actually type the quotes)

Excel maintains a distinction between the VALUE of the date/time and the FORMAT. For instance, when you type 5:12 in cell A3, Excel understands that you mean a date/time value, and stores this as 0.2166666. By default, if you do not specify a date, Excel uses the mythical 1/9/1900 for the date portion, and the time specified.

As another example, go to any cell and type in =NOW(). Excel will store this as a date/time, but format it on screen to your default preference -- mine looks like 1/26/2008 14:23. But if you click on that date again, then go to the Format menu, choose Number, select 4 Decimal places, you will see it change to 39473.6000 -- representing 39473.6 full days from the beginning of time (according to Excel - 1/0/1900).

Bottom line: go ahead and enter your data as just h:mm, then add them up / see if it behaves -- shouldn't require any special formatting....

Also, fwiw - if you have any Excel questions, I would be happy to reply here or answer emails....
I totally agree re medical report format.

You will not be able to copy those from a MQ
computer. Believe me, I tried EVERYTHING! My husband is a computer whiz and said they have some kind of lock on their system that you cannot copy or transfer to another computer, sorry, but like me, you'll just have to redo your expander, I know it's crap, but you'll make yourself crazy trying to copy it, cause it just won't happen.
copy typing
What exactly is copy typing? Just curious. Thanks
Did you ask for a copy of the test?
Just curious.
Copy and Paste....

I have a few of my own standards in MS Word that I will copy and paste into Meditech, but I find the tabs do not translate over to Meditech. Do you have this problem as well? It is aggravating because I have to fix these when I go back to the Meditech screen

Look at the copy of the fraudulent
resignations email that you received:

WHAT is written in From:......?

WHAT is written in
TO:..... ?

Doesn't this give you a clue?

Can't you use this as evidence that it is a fraudulent email, NOT sent by you???
thanks for the copy and paste--sm
but latest and related are not the same thing. all I am seeing are posts that were placed after mine and nothing in relation to the original post questioning the company. sorry again.
copy and past into address bar. nm

Very interesting. I am going to copy this and save it. nm
:+
copy/paste is against the rules.. we were
from the onset to NEVER EVER copy and paste. If you are doing this you should stop it soon before they figure it out and you get in trouble.
I'd ask to see copy of occup or county...nm

I'd like to see a copy of a letter sent to clients ...
The letter would explain to the client/doctors that MTs work from homes all over the country and we may not know the names of streets, towns, landmarks in their communities. The letter would explain how docs and MTs could both save time if the doc would move his/her lips when speaking, and would speak at a reasonable volume and pace -- not super-fast, and not stop and go while shuffling papers and talking on cell phones. The letter would describe (in a sweet, informative way, of course) that MTs are real human beings and that dictation is not transcribed by magical machines on the other end of the phone line. And then, I'd like to hear all the docs say, Thank you at the end of their dictations and say, If there's anything that I can do to improve my dictation technique, please let me know, and actually mean it!
Maybe they can supply you with the right copy of word.

If I had to copy & paste my IM to an email...

...because I needed a conversation documented, I would do it.  I would find a way.  Even if I had to get a disposable camera and take a couple of darn pictures of the computer with the IM on it.  LOL!

By the way, what happens if you doin't respond to the IM?  Are you an employee with the co?  No co. would make me do IM, but that's me.  What is the co. so concerned about that they don't want something documented in email???

Copy Meditech to PC Shorthand (sm)
I am new to Meditech.  Could someone please tell me how to copy, for example, and whole paragraph such as physical exam into PC Shorthand?  Thanks very much!!!
Freelance copy writer here - sm
$25-$45 an hour or per project.  It isn't steady but it pays for the extras!
Should I attach or copy and paste
the questionnaire and resume into an email when sending them back to Webmedx? No preference was given.
WHY NOT MAIL THEM COPY OF FEDERAL....SM
and labor board guidelines regarding employment of independent contractors and the difference between IC and employment status.  They cannot have it both ways...have their cake and eat it, too.  They don't want to pay taxes, Soc Sec,  and benefits for MTs.....but they still want the same control over the MT.  Same mentality of most MTSO's....insulting our common sense & intelligence bec. they've soooooooo smart and we're are, collectively, soooooooo dumb!
I am currently using it. I type in MSWord, copy
and paste in Meditech. One must be very careful to watch the Meditech screen to be sure you are pasting the right report. I especially like doing it this way because my Expander works with Word, and if for some reason the internet connection is lost, I do not lose my report but just re-paste when connected again.

I hate Meditech..there is too much to be entered before you ever get to the text screen, all of which we are not paid for. It demands a high rate per line. Otherwise, you work yourself to death and face applying for food stamps if the Meditech account is the only one you are transcribing. I would say 15 cpl is a minimum to get to break even...to break even!
forward a copy to the big boss
-
I would request a copy of the test

to review and learn from.  I'm not saying that you did make any mistakes, but it would be easier to think that if the company is not willing to provide you with that.  I would definitely want a copy for my own knowledge.

actually perfect copy is correct.

copy of fraud resignation
I have a screen shot copy of the fraudulent resignation that the team leader took the initiative to email to me.  I don't have a copy of the original fraudulent resignation email that was sent to the account manager, but I sure wish I had, as I learned through Yahoo Fraud Division the following.  For instance, I email a person, not forwarded, just they receive my original email.  If you go to the very bottom of that email, in the right lower corner, click on Full Headers.  Now go back up to the top of the email and what do you see....You will now see the IP address.  That IP address tells a lot about the sender.  Hmmm, do you think All Type would insist ***** do this since she is the one who received the fraudulent resignation?  Would save a lot of legal headaches.  I think I shall request that, but something tells me I will not receive a response.
Anyone know of a company, easy clinic work, easy Word format, dependable pay? Help!

DRC did. Printed out a copy of the test and took it over the phone w/the

could you quickly copy and paste your document into another? then
you could just keep adding on the lines in each document to your own master document for the day. Then you would have a line count for the day. I bet you could write a macro to do this.
If there is anyone higher up, send them a copy with a complaint.
If the person who sent it is the last buck in that company, send a reply along with the original message telling them to cease an desist harassing you and that if anything else like that happens again you will be taking appropriate action to ensure it will not happen again. Print out/save your copies. Then, call the office and tell them the same either to their face or the next person in line. Tell them you are making a note of the call, who you talked to, what was said and why. Do not partake in any harassment in return, do not sink to their level. Plainly tell them to stop or steps will be taken. Doesn't really matter to anyone here what was said or why. If you feel you are being harassed you need to handle the situation calmly and promptly.

Good luck.
I had the same thing happen and I asked for a copy
of the test and was told they couldn't mail it to me.  Which makes no sense at all since the document was in Word and all they had to do was Email me the corrected version.
also turn them into perfect copy (s/b copies) lol
nm
no them is plural - them to copies ; Had he said it - then turn it to copy.
nm
P.S. - If your company has filed form SS-8 ask for a copy.
If they won't give it to you, see if you can get it from the IRS; I believe you can.

And, of course you can still file your own SS-8 even if the company has filed it. I'm not saying an MTSO would LIE on the form they file, but anyone can make a MISTAKE...
Can tech support copy my desktop?
I am just curious.  This is my computer and I use it to make a living.  Kind of like tools of the trade.  But, I wonder if it is possible for tech support to copy information on my desktop.  I worked for a company where they spent an unreasonable amount of time on my desktop.  Am I just being overly suspicious?
but that still takes time to copy/paste

This company prob charges their client the same rate for the entire report; everyone is feeling the crunch!  So, let's hit the MT's pocket; I'd pass on companies like that.

Any company will leave you alone if you do your work, so that's not a plus!

I think they do, but must follow
