Just pay her. If her bank truly rejected her DD numerous times, then why wasn't she sent an actual paper check. Companies like this need to be run out on a rail. You give MTSOs a bad name.

Four Seasons Transcription
Is there anyone else working for this company as an Editor or MT that has been promised to get money recently and still waiting?  I read the posts below about someone not working there anymore that hasn't gotten paid but what about current employees?

I too am dealing with this company. I am 4 checks behind. I signed a contract and am headed to my lawyer. She told me that she was having problems with her accountant, but assured me that she would send me a check herself. Yeah right! Started out as a good thing and then I never received direct deposit. She said it was a miscommunication with her accountant, then received a check several weeks later. I was very patient with her but now I am 4 checks behind and still haven't received any checks. Everytime I contact her its one excuse after the next. I am fed up and will let my lawyer deal with her.

Another one burned by Four Seasons Transcription

I was a current employee of Robin Hall's that still hung on thinking and believing she would pay me.  My paycheck was 5 weeks late when I finally said enough is enough.  I told her I quit as of 02/01/08.  Since that time she does not show online, does't answer her home phone, cell phone, or e-mail.  This woman is a very very good con artist and apparently has been operating this way for a long time.  I even called on her business number listed on her business webpage... guess what... that number has been disconnected with no forwarding number.  I still have yet to be paid and she owes me over $800.  The part I feel the worst about, I referred a friend to her shortly after I started.  She owes my friend over $900 and can't get a hold of Robin either.  I know there's probably not much I can do about what she did to me but I hate that fact that she will continue to cheat honest, hard working MT's.  I've posted on just about every site I can think of from Guru (where she found me) to Freelance.com.  If anyone can think of any other sites I'll post on them too.  I can't stress enough, please before you accept a position IC or employee status with ANY company..... check them out in any way possible.

Four Seasons Transcription: How To File A Complaint
If you would like to file a complaint with the BBB regarding payment not received from Robin Hall and Four Seasons Transcription, you can do it online at http://vabbb.org/newindex.html.  This is the Virginia branch of the BBB.  Any information such as a phone number of Four Seasons, you can find on her website at www.fourseasonstranscription.com.  I have already filed a complaint.  This is the first step I'm taking to get my payments for the last 6 weeks.  WARNING:  DO not work for Robin Hall.  Any complaints you hear here are true!  She uses fuzzy words to tell you when your payment is coming.  She DOES NOT pay or DOES NOT pay regularly or on time.
Four Seasons Transcription Owes Me Money
She owes me money too. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I sent you an e-mail.
Update on Four Seasons Transcription/Robin Hall. sm
Well, the update is there is no update.  She still has not paid me the money she owes me and refuses to answer emails, etc.  I've heard she's suing me for making slanderous and libelous statements.   She obviously has not looked up the definitions of slander or libel.  I've not made one FALSE statement.  I've had mutual acquaintances forward me emails/instant messages from her where she's making outrageous claims like she's mailed me my money by certified mail and I've failed to pick them up and she's emailed me but I refuse to answer her.  Totally nonsensical garbage.  I hear that she's advertising on guru.com these days.  I really need to know where these unethical imposters get off thinking they can just steal our services and get away with it.  I guess because they can.  Boy, how I wish some hospital would stiff her like she's stiffed me.  Thanks for all your kind words of encouragement.
If Four Seasons Transcription/Robin Hall owes you money...sm
please email me.  I am receiving emails from new victims of her's almost weekly.  Hopefully we can something done together since none of us seem to be getting anywhere individually.  It's became blatantly obvious that lying, conning, and stealing from us is just the way she runs her business.  Upon comparing notes, the common thread seems to be her excuses, i.e., her clients not paying her, our banks, and her accountant.  The payroll company is another of her favorites.  She even uses some of the exact same wording.  (She must have created templates for these excuse emails)  I finally quit when she owed me 4 invoices.   Her newest maneuver is firing people whose production has gone down solely for the reason that they're not being paid.  SHE MUST BE STOPPED.   As we speak, she is probably sitting at her black-hearted little computer shooting out her excuse templates right and left.   The post below by just passing through is kind of baffling.  I'd sure like more details about that situation.  Robin can sue me until the cows come home, I did NOTHING wrong.  I did get a reply from the BBB, and they said they didn't handle complaints of this nature.  Guru.com said they're keeping a close eye on her.  I feel our best bet is to pool our resources, hire an attorney, supply him/her with all the evidence we've collected, and let a court handle it.  Even if we cannot recover any of the money she already owes all of us, perhaps we can prevent her from ever doing this to others in the future.   Please email me if you're interested in joining forces against this rogue MTSO.
Four Seasons Transcription and Robin Hall...a tale of deception and duplicity. sm

I went to work for this company in November. I was assigned two large hospital accounts in Canada. After a few months, she lost one of them. She had to let go all of the MTs and editors she had hired to work on that account but asked me to stay because she said I was her best Editor and highest producer. I did. Everything rocked along for a few months without a hitch. Then my paycheck starting arriving late, at first a week, maybe 10 days late. But I was cool with that and didn't complain. Then one paycheck was weeks late. I contacted Robin and she told me that my bank was rejecting my direct deposit because my account had been closed. So I argued with the bank back and forth for weeks. They maintained that no deposits had been attempted. By then I was 2-3 paychecks behind. She continued to insist my bank was rejecting the direct deposits. I asked her for proof from her payroll company (rejection notices) but of course they never materialized. By August 1st, she still owed me 4 paychecks and I told her I could no longer donate my time and services to her cause. Throughout this time, she steadfastly stuck to her story that the hospital had not paid her, ergo she could not pay me. I've been in contact with a few of her current employees and know she's paying them (though late). As far as I'm concerned, this woman is nothing but a common thief. She stole my time, my experience, my talent, and my trust. I'm posting this because I'd like to save some other trusting soul from this same fate. I have no idea how this woman can lay her head on a pillow every night and actually go to sleep. A pox on her!!!

typos are one thing (inadvertent), but poor grammar is a poor reflection and demonstrates lack..
of knowledge. In this profession, if you lack proper grammar knowledge, you should expect to receive comments from those MTs who take pride in producing top quality work. Just my opinion, but I think it is quite embarrassing to see inproper use of the english command from those who profess to be MTs. There's a difference between typing a message here and having a slip of the finger and just not knowing proper word forms and spelling. I see grammer quite often, dependible etc. I truly do no believe these are simple typos, sorry.
To BrokeMT from post just below, please see message.....

I'm assuming the company you are dissatisifed with is TransHealth . I myself have just started there recently and I am very disappointed.  The people are so nice, but my line count is so low.  I can't really figure out what is wrong because I feel like I am typing well but my line count is SO low.  Is this what is happening to you?

You might wanna look down a ways. BrokeMT can't seem to get paid by them.
I'm pretty sure she is not going to recommend them.
i think we are all fighting
over 64 and 66. Too many MTs, too little jobs to go around.
Fighting back. SM
Certainly I don't have all the answers, which is why it would be nice to get some positive input going on this issue. We're not stupid people, and if we think it through and work together, we can come up with something.

I think a mass exit of good MTs would have the effect I have already stated, which is born out by at least one post below. How fast do you think a company could transition to a production base overseas? Not fast enough in my opinion. Sure they might get it set up, but even offshore elements don't have gobs of people trained and just sitting on the side lines waiting for reports to transcribe. They are like everyone else, they have to recruit and train to fill the need as it arises. I don't think it would all come together fast enough to prevent major account losses. And as the accounts go south, so will the need to send work out, as there will be less work to send. And what about the end result the clients (hospitals, etc.) will be getting back? There's no doubt that a huge percentage of it would be poor quality. And if the good MTs have left because of refusing to be treated bimbos who stand willing to put the noose around their own necks, who is going to do the editing and polishing of these reports, and they will need to be polished. I think it would throw a wrench in the whole works, and I don't think companies could cover the base fast enough to prevent big losses. In any event, this possibility that you raise is not like we're not facing it already. My point is we should at least start doing something besides just standing here watching our livelihoods go down the tubes. I can't guarantee the results of taking this kind of action would be totally what we want, but I can guarantee that not doing something will lead to the sure death of our profession.

As for those who would say to shut up and just be grateful, I say they have their heads buried in the sand, and so what they have to say isn't going to do them or me or anyone else any good. The jobs they would tell us to be glad we have will soon be gone, which is exactly the point, so hang what the negatives would have to say. We can't afford to be influenced any longer by people telling us it can't be done. Maybe it can't, but it for sure can't if we just stand around and do nothing.

Yes, technology is here to stay. Nothing wrong with that. The companies investing in it can still make their millions off of it, but it doesn't have to be at our expendability. What I'm saying is to refuse as an industry to willingly help them make the transition knowing full well that, as a direct result of our cooperation, we will soon no longer be needed. Hence, the position I have adopted being one of, if you (the doctors) want to use it, then get it right on your own. I ain't gonna' help. On the other hand, give us the technology, and I'll show the doctors, the hospitals, and the companies we work for the production and accuracy we all want to be part of while preserving our ability and right to make a living. As far as medical doctors learning to fill out templates, they're not there yet, which is why we need to take action before they are. By not there yet, I don't mean they're not doing it to some degree now, but the technology is still not what it will be some day, which means they still need us. Someone has to produce the finished product. What I'm saying is we should refuse to do so as long as it is obvious that doing so is the same as loading the gun and putting it the hand of the one who intends to shoot us with it.

Where to start, therefore, is here, and the when is now while we are still needed. Once we are no longer needed, we will have no chance. Our strength and hope lies in the fact that this work has to be done or the doctors don't get paid, which means action taken now will hit them right where it hurts, in the pocket book. Patient care documentation is becoming more and more important to others outside of the medical profession, and I don't think inaccurate and poor quality of reports will ultimately be tolerated.

It's going to be a hard bullet to bite, and those at the leading edge are going to have to be the ones to chomp down first. That's why I'm saying to bail now while you can. The first ones out will be the ones that get the positions that are available now. Those that wait to take action may find themselves on the sidelines for a while until the full impact has a chance to take hold. But, they and the rest of us are going to be sitting on the sidelines for good in the future anyway, so the only way to look at it, in my opinion, is stop putting off the inevitable and take the step now while there is still a chance to make a difference. If the company I'm with ever indicates that they intend to burn the work force that they now claim is their backbone, I will be gone in a heart beat, even if it means learning those all-imporant 7 words, i.e., would you like fries with that, sir?
I'd rather serve somebody a hamburger at minimum wage that help the other guy get rich at my expense. It ain't gonna' happen.
Yes, I am fighting back. Thank you!!
I have called the company also and will call until I get someone in charge.  I sent her my personal check stubs and that is what I am most upset about.  If she could not match my pay, why ask for my personal check stubs and offer me the position. Receive my check stubs, keep them, and then say she could not offer me that pay?  She stole my check stub information in my opinion and I am steamed.   I feel violated.
Fighting outsourcing
Just wondered if anybody else has tried to fight to stay a hospital employee & fight against outsourcing????  I am putting together a petition for transcription & going to get doctors to sign it & send it to the CEO of the hospital. I hate to do that but I feel I must fight for my job!
fighting outsourcing
Good for you! Our hospital, too, is being outsourced soon. We asked about this and was told the physicians didn't have a say. Hopefully in your case it will make a difference!
Another nosy one fighting with me over nothing! You women (?)
jump in threads and fight with the wrong person!! Aren't you embarassed? Can you follow conversations in real life? I doubt it! I'm not talking about computers or anything - I'm on Busy MTings side, really.  We're having a fine conversation, in case you hadn't stuck your nose in the full thread!!  I'm not the bozo worrying about whose computer she's using and that nonsense. AND YES I WORKED FOR SPHERIS!!  HORRIBLE! JUST ANOTHER MONSTER NATIONAL! And I work for MQ - YUCK.  But it pays the bills, though that is another story all together!  When you nosy posters who jump in a thread decide to jump in and bash, why not pick an intelligent fight with the correct person?  You make no sense and look like more of a jerk than you obviously think I am!!  Sorry, too, not a blonde!  Black as the Ace of Spades - wanna fight about my hair??
Fighting low wages: Has anyone ever considered trying to (sm)

organize MTs throughout the country?  It seems like, judging by what I read in MR forums, that part of the problem is that when people first come into the business, they have no idea of what their hard work is worth.  Regardless of the fact that hospitals want to pay the lowest possible price for transcription, the only people who should be settling for less than 10, 12 or more cents/line are ESLs in India, etc.  American workers should be standing up for American wages.  Yes, there are some companies who will say, Fine, I'll contract with India.  Believe me, you wouldn't want those companies as employers, or to work for hospitals or clinics that operate that way.  Heck... I sure wouldn't put my care in the hands of a doc that uses offshore transcription services, that's for sure!

SO, what I'm saying is, there must be some way to bring MTs from all areas, and of all experience levels together (OUTSIDE of AAMT, which has been in large part responsible for alot of the problem!), and organize for a decent living wage and health benefits.  If all of us were to stop working for 3 days, 1 week max, do you think that work would all suddenly be sent offshore?  I don't think so.  Some might, but then again, it's a good way to week out the undesirable clients & employers.

I think we our often our own worst enemy when it comes to wages.  If we continue to accept less than what we're worth, then that's all we can expect to earn.

Also, I'm surprised that some entrepreneuring MT company hasn't cashed in on all the newbies and in-school MTs out there who just want experience and a chance.  Imagine if one of the larger, more respected services were to open an MT SCHOOL as well.  They would receive an income from instruction fees.  MTs could gradually cross over from student to trainee.  MTs could earn extra money as teachers.  (And should be paid well for it, too.)  The company training the MTs would have first pick of the best and brightest for work in their own company.  Beyond that, there would be more money to be made when it comes to referrals.

The healthcare industry needs to be more educated in the fact that transcription is a vital part of their work, and how well their reports are done is a direct reflection of their competency.  If you look at how much money is wasted in these establishments on FLUFF -- excess management, inept management, some community programs, and in some cases excess in building glitz and glamour, one has to wonder why they feel transcription is a less-valuable service than those provided by their janitors, groundskeepers, or food service personnel.

One way to fight the low-wage problem is to continue to lobby for an end to offshoring of personal information, not only in the healthcare industry, but in ALL American industry.  NO personal data: phone numbers, credit card numbers, etc. should EVER leave American soil without the express written consent of the owner of that data.

Another way to fight low wages is to do as much research as possible on prospective employers.  Remember, they are not just interviewing you, you are also interviewing THEM!  Go with the best-paying company you can find.  If you are new to the field, that will be harder, but in your case finding the best learning environment is your best bet, and then work hard at getting proficient enough to be able to LEAVE a low-paying employer ASAP for a better-paying one.

In terms of being an IC, I know it's difficult to deal with people undercutting you.  But once again, don't forget that when someone turns down high-quality transcription and goes with the lower-quality provider, simply because of a couple-cent-per-line difference in cost, the way to look at that client is Good Riddance!  I used to have my own, non-MT, service-related business.  I had two ways of weeding out the undesireables:

One was a waiver of liability.  If they squawked about signing it, or started picking it apart like they were big legal experts, then I knew right away they were a future legal liability.  (Of course, that is less of an issue with MT... I don't know of MTs that make clients sign waivers!  It's just a 'fer instance.)  But the best way to weed out the cheapskates and nit-pickers was to charge a slightly HIGHER fee than my competitors.  I offered a higher-quality, more personalized service than my competitors.  So I stood firm on my prices.  And you know what?  There are clients who will actually LOOK for the higher fee, knowing that if you can command and get a higher fee, you are probably a better service provider.

Also, steer clear of new clients who want a special deal or discount right off the bat.  They will NEVER be satisfied; give them an inch and they'll take a mile.  I believe that discounted rates are EARNED, not given out on demand.  A long-time client who is honest, pays on time, tips, is slightly flexible, etc., who gives you steady, reliable work that is easier to do, should be rewarded with a deal.  But that deal should only be between you and them, and not broadcast to other clients.

Some of my BEST business clients turned out to be people who at first pooh-poohed my fees, and went with the cheaper provider.  Quite a few of them came crawling back on their hands and knees later; sadder but wiser, and more than willing to pay what I charged.  And often they had such a big mess that needed to be straightened out (usually caused by the cheaper provider) that I initially had to charge EXTRA, on top of my normal fees, to straighten it all out!  These people often came to be my biggest TIPPERS, as well!

I think we have all been conditioned to believe we are lucky to have a job at all, and we need to start rethinking that.  MT's need to stick together, network, lobby against offshoring and unfair pay, UNIONIZE if at all possible or beneficial, and be far more VOCAL.  The normally quiet nature of most MTs and their behind-the-scenes work usually works against them when it comes to fair labor practices!  Those of us with many years of experience & skill need to TURN DOWN job offers that are insultingly low.

Anyway, that's my take on the el-cheapo employers & clients, and the low pay they think we'll get down on our knees and thank them for!

Happy 2007!

Not fighting. Just talking quality.
If you can't discuss issues, go back to typing.

Hope Transtech is NOT still hiring, because we are all fighting for work right now OVERHIRE big time
Be careful right now, because TT has much overhired, promising something big coming up, but nothing seen by the MT's yet, just LOW WORK load.
Four Seasons? (sm)
Anyone edit for them? Sent my resume and they sent test but I have no Vianeta experience.  Anyone have any idea what line rate 'range' may be and what type of work they do? Direct deposit?
FOUR SEASONS, WE.......

Four Seasons

I am so sorry this happened to you.  Can you contact the Department of Labor in your area?

I almost worked for her in QA, but believe it or not, the day she was suppose to call me for training, she didn't call and never did call me again. I thought well maybe that should tell me something about this so I never pursued it.  We had already signed the contract and everything!!!!

Hey Four Seasons
Robin Hall, pay your MTs.....................NOW!  You cannot hide from the law.
Has anybody been paid by Four Seasons yet?? nm

SEASONS GREETINGS FROM MTSO

Seasons Greetings to Our MTs !

It is that time of the year again – time to thank you for all of your hard work, and the high quality of your deliverables.  It is because of your skills and long hours of dedication that management has had yet another very profitable year.

Therefore, in spite of cost of living increases for our MT staff, in order for our management to maintain the lifestyle to which they have become accustomed, MT line rates will be cut yet again, back to earnings realized in the mid-1980's, to maintain management salaries, plush offices, free lunches and holiday parties.

Someone must sacrifice, and we are counting on the transcriptionists once again as we cut customer prices again in order to maintain work in the United States, raise management salaries and continue the perks which management enjoys at the office.  MTs must bear the brunt of the customer rate cuts, and it is the MTs that will fulfill the promises we have made to our accounts.  MTs will continue to sit patiently, without hourly compensation, waiting for work to be dumped into the system at the whim of the customer.

From a fiscal standpoint, management salaries must be maintained; MTs will be on their own to make ends meet.  MTs are expected to find ways to work around the pay and benefit cuts, by taking on two full-time jobs to earn the same salary that one full-time job afforded in past years, or by moving their families into cardboard boxes under the interstate.

I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday cards signed by all members of office management during a workless afternoon and free lunch.  The cards were sent out a couple of weeks ago, as the office will be closed for four days over the holiday.  Please contact leads or other MTs with questions or to report changes in your contact info

(new addresses under interstate, disconnected phone numbers, etc.), as management will be out of state, far from the office, receiving full pay for each of the days that the office is closed during the holidays.

MTs holiday schedules will remain the as always, and those who want to earn holiday pay will need to work two days prior to the holiday, two days after the holiday, three weekends in a row, and all other scheduled days for the next month, in order to earn $0.000000021 extra per holiday line.

Happy Holidays to all transcriptionists and their families, and may 2009 show continued success, salary raises and perks for members of management.

Sincerely,

Gree D. Boss, CEO

TransTech and low/no work for months and months _ don't think there are continous holidays LOL

This HORRIBLE low/no work situation has been going on at TT for almost a year now.  You can't convince me it is due to Memorial Day.  Are holidays now assigned in this world to being daily.

That is an excuse these companies use in these no work situations, but it is due to their OVERHIRING.  Holidays just come on a daily basis, but LOW WORK/NO WORK is happening and has happened going on a year now at TransTech.  Always asking to flex into the middle of the night, EVERY weekend, etc.

The TT mgmt checks are NEVER affected, tho, so they can continue to HIRE EVERY MT who gives them a call, and create a NO WORK situation for all of us.  The newbie MT's are cheering at first, but then realize that it hit them in the paycheck, too, and very soon it did!!!!!!!

Four Seasons and the infamous Ms. Hall. nm

Robin Hall/Four Seasons - Whereabouts??? sm
Wondering if anybody knows what happened to Robin and/or Four Season Transcription??  Her website is down and email bounces back.  I just received a 1099 from her for 2008 and I haven't worked for her since 2007.  She didn't pay me what she owed me in 2007, much less anything in 2008.  Has anybody been in contact with her lately???  Thanks!!!
Anyone with any recent info on Four Seasons? Is this an offshore service? sm
Cannot find anything in the archives, or anything that was recently answered in a page-by-page search.  TIA.
Same thing happened at Four Seasons and Eagles Landing
Apparently, MTSOs feel they can call all the shots without remorse.
My company has been low on work for months and months..sm
Tired of getting the same ol' message that things will pick up.  I remember the days of bonuses, making money and being able to pay my bills!  I am also wondering what is going with these companies not having work.  Is everybody sending work overseas?
Poor me?? Really now!
I have seen only one post that you could possibly misconstrue as a "poor me" attitude, and that was from a very close friend of mine who lost her home to a hurricane. She wanted me to go to work for OSi because she thought they had been very considerate of her circumstances (plus she wanted the referral bonus). I will say right now that she is THE strongest woman I know. She does not kiss butt at work or here on this board. She told the truth about her experience with the company. She has not said a word about anything other than OSi's support. She has never met any of the managers and does not participate in garbage gossip of any type on either "side." Does she gush over OSi all the time? No, absolutely not, but she voices her concerns and opinions with them, not on a public board, particularly in order to humiliate another person. I am highly offended that she has been attacked without cause. I used to work with her at a local hospital, and she is a joy to be around and doesn't go around with a hang dog "poor me" demeanor. There is never a dull moment because you never know what she is going to say next. "Poor me" - you don't even know who or what you are talking about. It is time to write something productive on this board instead of jamming it with bulls**t.
Yes, they do, but very poor IT
x
Some poor MT will take it though.
That's pretty bad.
LOL!!! Poor pud! ....nm

Poor pay

I got paid per line during QA but had to submit 10 reports at a time for review and then had to wait around for approval of each set before I was allowed to type again.  Sometimes I was idle for 1 to 1-1/2 hours after each set waiting for the go ahead.  Needless to say, I lost a lot of money that way.

Not OP either. Just another poor

sap who hired on.  I think the statement is correct in that they only do overflow work, too. The account I was on was behind on discharge summaries for 15 days.

It's too bad that you have had such a poor experience - sm

I have never worked for another national so I have had nothing to compare Transcend to but I am happy with my choice and I am not a newbie.

The size of the company is comfortable and the people I work with are great. If I were truly being a cheerleader for the company, I would post my name too.  I'm not trying to recruit anyone. I just stated my own personal opinion based on my experience and was curious to know how you came to yours since you posted it.

I just don't understand why the negative posters have to be so nasty.  If I was unhappy with a company, I would say why but not bash.  That's not my style and I think its playing dirty.

Have I always been happy with them?  No.  There have been times when I wanted to just give it up but I didn't. I saw it through and have been glad I did every time.

It's my fit though.  It obviously wasn't a good fit for you and that's fine too.

poor management
I think someone should write a letter to the corporate office, they really have bad management at MQ, all over the board!
They offshore, they lie to you, very poor
communication, some very difficult acounts, and pay is so-so.
