For the entire 8 weeks you've been there?!

Speaking strictly for weekends, she's probably not working, and has forwarded her calls to the help desk, where they could put you in touch with the weekend supervisors, if need be.  But I truly doubt she's ignored you the whole time you've worked there.  She's simply not like that.  She has answered every email I've ever sent her, and always answers her phone during her normal weekday.  My supe has an usual name that starts with D, same as yours, right?

I've been there for about 6 weeks now sm
I'm not disappointed. Plenty of work. Pay on time. Good feedback. Nice platform, easy to use. My account has good dictators-I'm not sure about the others. I know they have several accounts and a few different platforms. You are IC. They give you 24 hours to get your work in, I believe.
I've only been there about 6 weeks, but

so far I haven't had any issues with them watching my every move.   You are paid on how many lph you type.  While I HATE punching in and out it helps keep me focused and helps increase my line count.  I have worked an hour or two off my schedule and there hasn't been an issue, especially since there is a lot of work and they have offered OT.

They have many accounts.  I know there are some with a very high level of ESLs on them.  The account I am on says per contract ESLs are 40%, but based on the work I get I would say that is a low number.  Most of them aren't horrible, but do slow you down.

My biggest issue is with their platform.  I find it to be slow.  Twice since I've been there my supervisor has sent e-mails out that the system was slow, today it was even down altogether, though not long.  About every other day the system freezes up and I lose a job.   I think the first part of October they are doing an upgrade that is supposed to address some of the issues.

They have 2 new accounts coming on-line very soon, one large account that recently came on-line.  Work has been sporadic, but seems to have picked back up and with the new accounts coming on-line there should be plenty of work.

Their platform is Word based and they use Shorthand, which I totally dislike.

Everyone seems willing to help, even the tech department is helpful and friendly, at least from what I have seen so far.   I work my shift, I produce a client ready product, and I don't hear from anyone.  I don't know if that is because I'm doing okay or they are stretched with all the new accounts.

I don't know if I answered all the questions or not, I've got a migraine and my brain isn't processing very well.

They may be better out there, but there are a lot worse out there too.  I would recommend them.

From what I've seen, in a few weeks
MT-30+ will be on here ripping KS apart on her own, just like she ripped LM all over the place earlier in the week.

Talk about burning bridges, MT30+. Perhaps you should consider practicing what you preach?
Since you've only been there 4 weeks, you're
were from disgruntled ex-employees or if they had valid complaints.  It's really easy to say the sky's not falling with 4 weeks under your belt.  It's an almost sure bet that you won't be there in 4 years, maybe even 40 weeks.   General concensus is after 6 months, attitudes start to change, if it takes that long.  I gave it 4 years before I quit believing the posts praising Transcend and telling me to hang in there, it gets better.  I figured after 4 years of not seeing it get better I had enough proof I wasn't a disgruntled employee.
I've been working there for a few weeks sm
I like it so far. Their system is a little clunky to me but I came from a job with a great system, so I'm used to the best in technology. From what I hear, MedScribe's system is like many out there. I like my accounts; I have two. Their people are pleasant and helpful. They have a great incentive system. So far, so good.
I've been there a few weeks (Oregon)...
and you can feel free to e-mail me with specific questions, be glad to tell you what I know to this point.
I've heard others say they wait 2 weeks

They use ancient equipment anyway.  Get with a company that is with the times.  Furthmore KS'ers on this board seem like recruiters to me or else they get paid to put nice things about that company.  I think they're 9 cents short of a dime.  I can feel it in my gut.  No company is that great.

Oh, I also heard they start everyone at 9 cpl, which is a lie!  That was told on this board as well.  Don't believe everything you read.  I'd rather work for Transcend or MQ!  HAHAHAHAHAHA

I've applied to 15 places here in 2 weeks and

We've lived your yesterday for 4 weeks straight

Don't believe for one minute that they don't know why there's no work - they just don't want to tell you because you'll start looking for another job.  Mass quantities of work don't just disappear without a reason - and that reason is usually profitable to someone other than an MT!  How long can you survive getting 4 hours a day (sitting there trying for a total of 12 hours), 6-7 days a week, for 1/3 of your former paycheck?  Beware, your occasional day of no work might turn into a whole month of it!

Like somebody said below, this used to be a real job.  Not anymore.

I've worked for Ubiqus for 2 years now and I get paid every two weeks.
I really enjoy the work because it's advisory board meetings, round table discussions, and big conferences of all fields of medicine.  I started with them right after I graduated and I've never done any of the doctor dictation, I like this work better.
Yes, they offer I think 4 weeks at full pay or 8 weeks at half pay. Call the office
and talk to them about it. You wont lose your job. They aren't like that.
I think it is the entire company.
Starts at the top. I am truly amazed they are still in business.
IMO, I think the ENTIRE MT INDUSTRYhas become

Yes they did. However, should expect it, since entire co is

well it's kind of taken over the entire

how about listening to an entire conversation -
either on the telephone or to someone else in the room, you have to listen to make sure he doesn't remember to start back on his note.  I even heard a conversation about myself when I was in a hospital setting. They haven't a clue what is recording.
You need to read the entire thread
then you would know that I only drew the difference in what I made and what my weekly unemployment amount was - and applied for other jobs - offered a lot of IC work, but I already had that.
I still have never run out of work the entire 1.5 yrs I have worked sm
there (with the exception of the holidays), and every single time I have asked to be put on another (additional) account, they have happily done so.
You don't have to read the entire board there
certain company.  There's no reason for you to be rude, she or he is just trying to help!  I'm one of those MTs that is fed up with the B.S. being fed to us by these we strictly hire U.S. MTs only companies.
Here is what I received - the entire ad, not edited.

Doesn't scare me. Most of the entire MT
The ones who should be worried are the ones who've been screwing MTs for the past decade or so.
Of course its my career - has been my entire life
That's what makes no sense about this rant above me. She recounts 30 years of her life as an MT and how horrible its been, all the failings, and how it has ruined her life since nearly day #1.  Per her own words, she blames everything, from her blood pressure to her endometriosis, blames her divorce, missing out on her son, blames everything on MTing, yet she has done it for 30 years and now is back at it again.  She claims over and over to have failed at literally every aspect in her life she felt worth mentioning, blaming it all on MTing, yet here she is an MT. What part of that makes sense to you? We're to feel sorry for her??  I've been in this business 30 years and have been a success. I've had a zillion trials and hardships and battles, but my career is a success, or I would have gotten the heck out of it when it became a disaster. If that doesn't make sense to you, which obviously it doesn't, then there is no reason or sanity with which you can be approached.  Substitute MTing for any career - if you are failing at it, and you've lost everything in life due to that career, why are you still doing it?  That's a big question, because the blame is not on the career, its on the person.  Nobody else to blame but yourself. Period.
In a nutshell, that's what's wrong with our entire
economy! 'Way too many chiefs, and not enough Indians'. ('Native-Americans', I guess I should say, NOT the eastern variety!)

Too many people in management, and not enough people who actually do the work. Just like AIG, which is currently paying bonuses to its less-than-useless CEOs for doing absolutely NOTHING, you know the MT companies are giving raises and bonuses to the managers, recruiters, executives, etc., all the while trying to justify offering the MTs that actually produce the finished product in the service that they sell, lower and lower wages, which are not only ridiculous, they're no longer enough to live on.

The hospital I used to work at was the same - it was all about their image, and the fluff, and they achieved that fluff by grinding their workers into the dirt.
You misread. The entire MT industry is a
out of hundreds of thousands. Most people that get hired for job get put to work as soon as possible. The MT industry 'hires' people, then twiddles around with them for weeks. The MT is always the very last one in the pecking order, even though they are the ones who actually do the work that the MTSO gets paid for.
I had not worked the entire hour.....
I said I had made for a half hour 17, actually it was 17.84 - that was a total of 446 lines, count it yourself. That was NOT a full HOUR. Guess not smarmy after all, hehe
Well, my entire post didn't take
Anyway, the entire report would be free of most formatting.
Yes, please read the entire thread
Several of us have directly emailed our liaisons and D, and have had absolutely no response.

Considering the fact more than one account has been without any appreciable work for over a month, I don't believe the speculation is all that 'wild.'
It's like an entire industry run by a bunch of
With a little luck, and some back-at-ya kharma thrown in for good measure, maybe one day some of the MTSO CEOs will be Bernie's new 'neighbors'.
Yes, exactly!!! The entire profession will wind up being "dumbed-down"

to where anyone with a keyboard and software can do it.  It used to be that medical transcriptionists were required to have a great deal of knowledge to transcribe medical documents.  If they are reduced to being custodians, cleaning up the punctuation and doing odds and ends because the VR program already knows how to interpret the "big words," then anyone would be able to do this job, anyone.........anywhere in the WORLD!!!!!!

Tell me, how many American MTs/editors are going to be left once we "fix" the broken machine that is replacing us all?

You make a WHOLE LOTTA SENSE, and it's becoming clearer and clearer that employment with smaller "mom and pop" companies who still believe in quality is the way to go.

you obviously didn't read my entire response
or can't understand me.
I know the entire staff there and they are all wonderful. If what you say happened sm
there is more to the story. I know you don't just get locked out of work for a medical emergency. The person in charge there would not do that. She is one of the nicest people around so it is my guess there is another side to the story.

To anyone thinking about working for TH, they are a wonderful company. If you want a fair company that has a good QA staff and nice supervisors, pays on time with their direct deposit, has good benefits, you certainly could not go wrong trying them.
That was my question the entire year I worked
for them. There will never be enough work and they will keep overhiring. Not sure why
IC pays ENTIRE tax to IRS, company does NOT pitch in.
This is a BIG boon for the companies as they try to pay ICs the same (or lower) rate than employees. At the end of the year, you will find yourself owing Uncle Warhead a really big chunk of money - and deductions? Forget it unless you can come up with more than $5,000 worth, which you may be able to do if you are buying a home - be real careful if you are renting. I don't care what anyone tells you. Talk to a tax professional before considering going IC.
Can you clarify last line? It contradicts your entire

I don't agree - you need to smell entire coffee pot

You don't know most men in this country...that would be a fact.....and in today's world, some of us prefer the foreign men, after decades of American ones.  It takes all kinds to make up an entire world and then an entire planet.

Live Globally, Dream Universally.....

Whatever. You're missing my entire point.
Nobody could be faster, and I have zero errors - I also QA. I score 100% on any audits, and can churn out 400 lph if I choose. Trust me, 20 years into this, you aren't as eager to churn out 400 lph/8 hours day. There is a ceiling, and many of us have reached it. Have fun!
Maybe you should learn to read - like the entire sentence!

I'm afraid their entire platform crashed.
I say their even tho I work at MQ as I am fortunate indeed in that my one and only account uses their own platform, not MQ's.
This entire forum is just too mentally deranged
And Bravoing? A woman's sad story who apparently has sacrificed her son's growth and childhood, her marriage, her own quality of life, and basically failed at MTing... now blaming it for even her multitude of health problems, yet she's back at it???  And she's lashing out at an MTSO apparently, because she herself failed for 30 years as an MT?  And you're yahooing her?  What is wrong with you all? Are you another woman who failed at MTing, have lost everything in life, including your health, and are blaming it on the MT industry, yet are still here doing it?  This is senseless and crazy.  I don't know the TTD person, or any of you, but god help us all if this is what my fellow MTs are all about. No wonder we can't get organized or on the same page.  You guys are in your own books entirely.
The point of the entire mess is that a person, any
then spend about 30 years in that occupation, which, according to the person, was responsible for nothing but misery and failure and losses and misery and failure and losses.  Yet, and this is the key point, this person stayed in this occupation of which she obviously was NOT successful, i.e. a failure at this career.  If she were not a failure, she would have been successful. She herself blamed MTing on every item she listed - she blamed being an MT for losing her marriage, her health, her son, everything.  And then after she became so physically disabled and crippled from MTing and the lack of time to take care of herself, she RETURNS to MTing, only to come here and rehash the horror of her life, blaming it all on MTing. Oh, for Pete's sake, where is the sanity behind this?? And now you're here blaming me for pointing out the obvious, that this woman is not a success as an MT. As Dr. Phil would say, It ain't working for her.  Move ON!! She was able to fully reflect every incident in her life and that it was the fault of MTing- she should have gotten another JOB 30 years ago.  Where are you not seeing the common sense in this? After 30 years of her own personal failure in an industry where most of us ARE successful, she's blaming the industry and you are backing her.  Talk  about enabling someone. Bet somewhere along the line her husband wanted her to quit. Anybody care to take bets on that? I'll bet somewhere along the line her son asked her to quit MTing if she never got to spend time with him, or missed 8 out of 10 Christmases. She herself states she was holed up in a closet typing her fingers off. Well, she should have QUIT and done something else and maybe she'd still be married with a close son/mom relationship. Something is wrong with HER career choice, and that does not reflect the average human being - no matter if you're a lawyer, doctor, MT, McDonald's clerk or a garbage man. If it doesn't work for you, and its killing your life in every single area, do SOMETHING ELSE.  I ask again, what's wrong with you all who are sticking to this and making poverty wages?? Do something else!! I just don't get it and thankfully never will. I'm the nicest person in the world in real life. I'm a wimp. I'd give the shirt off my back to help someone. I've spent many a night crying over coworkers who got a bad deal with one big MTSO, but I would never sit and listen to a coworker who had ruined her life because she was not making it as an MT. I would help him/her find a career that was right for them.  Never just give praise to such a catastrophe. Obviously this person needs prayers, and direction, and guidance in life, but I think its way past pity after reading her post. Its way past that.
make sure you choose search entire web

You judge an entire company by the posts of 2 or 3 out of 500+ employees?
That amazes me with MQ too. A few people post but the what they write it taken as gospel.

Keystrokes is very well run; it is sad that someone can make a blanket statement about something they know nothing about.
Are they picking up the entire tab? Airfare, hotel, meals?
